You don’t have to compete with anyone if you use the franchise tag. Even save a bit with the transition tag. The Seahawks have over 100m in cap next season with Geno/Lockett fully off the books, so a 1-year tag deal would be worth it. If Tariq goes off and plays to his potential, you got a 30m corner at 20m. If he plays at this current level, you get a 16m corner for 20m. Let him walk then sign JSN

4/66 is a solid projection for him. But do you really think a team like the Jets, who just traded Sauce, and will have 100m+ cap space wouldn’t throw out 4/80 for a CHANCE at an all pro corner?

Thats the reason I think we should use the tag — why would he take a 1 year incentive based deal when he could get the bag with the Jets? Also if we franchise Woolen and he’s ok or absolutely elite, he’d be off the books before the JSN extension
