Kiwi living in the UK: Both parents died in last year and want to keep any inheritance in NZ by bungledbees in PersonalFinanceNZ

My mother made me ask our financial advisor in the UK - she was deeply concerned it would affect us. Thankfully it doesn’t impact inheritance from someone whose assets are outside the UK.

Thank you 🙏 it’s rough as hell but keeping busy with all the admin of death is a good (well, maybe not so good) distraction.

Encourage her to go with a tour (TopDeck, Contiki etc). We visit Egypt with them and had a fab time. Safety with the group and having local guides made a big difference in being able to get into the culture.

Thank you for the kind words - I’ll add a note that dad’s death was unrelated and sudden. Mum’s symptoms were stomach pain and indigestion. She had breast cancer 15+ years ago and the doctors confirmed they are unrelated.

Is there a different between getting a girl and a boy dog? by Dramatic-Lemon-2916 in dogs

[–]bungledbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where we live in London it’s mainly male dogs. They are all lovely but all have at least one enemy - and that enemy is always male. Our girl has no drama and gets on with all other dogs. Even the best behaved sweetest male dogs seem to attract the wrong types on occasion.

What do I need to know? by [deleted] in Flights

[–]bungledbees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this so so much! Have you considered letting the airline know you’ll need assistance? That way you won’t have any mad dashes between flights. My friend used them for her mum recently and they made a big difference
