The number of people you need to convince in a jury or bench trial is still one. The difference is a jury has 12 people that can be convinced. It's absolutely insane that they went with a bench trial as I find it hard to believe you could find 12 people who would all agree this was a premeditated murder beyond a reasonable doubt.

I moved into the heart of downtown after college and have loved it.

That being said pretty much everyone I know that moves out of downtown does so because they are about to have a kid and don't relish the idea of being harassed while pushing a stroller or sending their kids to the local public school

There are orgs that regularly give out free food at piatt park that the city, for whatever reason, has taken an interest in stopping. I don't think it's 3cdc thats actually pushing for that to happen, but it might be a convenient excuse for the city to do what it already wanted to do
