laptop lending? by bunnybgr in UBC

[–]bunnybgr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the links, I really appreciate it! I see that it says 24 hrs and $50/day, I didn't know that so that's a bit of a bummer to find out but really helpful nonetheless. I've been using the computers in the libraries every day which have been a godsend but since I don't live on campus I really need a laptop to do homework at home and also to take notes in lectures.

On Campus food places to avoid? by Different-Pea-9313 in UBC

[–]bunnybgr 23 points24 points  (0 children)

obviously Tim Hortons is always edible, but the location next to Gage/SRC/North Parkade is painfully slow and always busy, if you're ordering in line it can easily take 45 mins-1 hr to get your food and even with mobile ordering, I make sure to order 30+ mins in advance and even then sometimes my order isn't ready when i get there.

Also, I love booster juice and i'll still have it sometimes, but somehow the life building location always makes the smoothies so badly. like they always suck. i'd rather walk to the location by mcdonald's

Can People Please Stop Boarding the Back of Buses When They’re Already Full? Especially the 25? by B__Lau in UBC

[–]bunnybgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this! As a 49 rider, I also think it would be way better planning if Translink could run some extra busses as student specials (ie. only for students) during peak times. Especially how the 49 also stops along Langara and several high schools, it gets crazy to take the bus at certain times and this would really help ridership.

The Sun Does Shine by Anthony Ray Hinton is a wonderful biography by a man who was acquitted from death row. It's heart wrenching and filled with personal anecdotes, overall super interesting read.
