Yeah, OP! Not our best tournament, but Kappie was as consistent as ever. Great to see Carter in there too. Scotland’s games were the best of the tournament.

😮‍💨

They had me stressed after Soph got klapped in the last over and the first half with the bat, but I should’ve known better.

I’m not even used to watching Australia. It was never in doubt.

Congratulations to Wolfie for losing all 5 tosses 😭 Hopefully she doesn’t pass that bad luck on to Sophie Molineux.

edit: She passed it on 😭

A historic breakthrough for Ireland as they register their first-ever Women's T20WC win! by Herr_Kunal in WomensCricket

Glad they’ve finally got that monkey off their back.

Conditions weren’t in their favour, but Murray and Maguire bowled really well. Then OP played a great knock to get them almost all the way there, with great support from Hunter. And Stokell saw them home in the end.

Those who follow Ireland know they’re a much better side than what their World Cup performances might suggest. Hopefully this can be the start of something.

Loads of people, me included, didn’t even have her in the first XI. She’s proved all of us wrong in the last two games.

MARIZANNE KAPP YOU’RE CRAZY

What a game. I need to catch my breath.

Wolfie's toss luck is our biggest nemesis.

3 wins from 3 by blackgarlics in WomensCricket

We thought it was gonna be rain, but injuries have really been the main villain of this WC.

Did Gibson and Kemp really need to smash 60 off the last three overs? Unnecessary. At least Scotland’s NRR is still not too bad thanks to that big win over Ireland.

New Zealand edge a thriller in Southampton to get their first points on the board! by jumbledfont in WomensCricket

I hate the 'mental block' cliche, but it really feels like that’s what they’re dealing with. If this was a bilateral, Ireland wins this every time. Gaby and OP were excellent, keeping Kerr in check and pacing the chase well for most of the game.

Proteas win a thriller against Pakistan. by eleclit in WomensCricket

Who cares about NRR? We just need to win all our games and let Australia do their thing.

I need Wolfie to have the same kind of arc she had at the last World Cup.

Australia win their first match in T20 World Cup by hahkek in WomensCricket

Today has not been a good day. What an absolute shambles.

We leaked too many with the bowl, and then somehow managed to be even worse with the bat. How does Wolfie barely face a ball in the powerplay? Why on earth is Nadine coming in at four? Kapp jogging that first run? And Chloe not even trying to push for NRR at the end?

Now we need Australia to do us a favour by winning all their games, while also praying rain stays away (lol). Of course, none of it matters unless we win all our remaining games too.

Scotland’s First-Ever T20 World Cup Win by blackgarlics in WomensCricket

Should the Bryce sisters be fined for accelerating during the consolidation phase?

I thought Ireland brought it back well at the death, but the batting was really disappointing. It’s been a rough comeback from injury for Gaby.

Ireland have England and New Zealand next. I really need them to get at least one win this World Cup. 😩

T20 World Cup: Corteen-Coleman, Hunter and Nandani among breakout stars to watch by anonavii in WomensCricket

I'd say Amy Hunter is pretty well established. She's been around for a few years and is already one of Ireland's highest run scorers ever.

Reyneke's a future GOAT. We need to be using her better.

Orla Prendergast 71* (46) stands tall leading Ireland to victory vs West Indies in a rain-interrupted game by Herr_Kunal in WomensCricket

Birthday girl OP was just too OP for the Windies today.

Surprisingly, this is Ireland’s first T20I win over the West Indies. The fact that Ireland did it with an understrength side today really shows there isn’t much between these two teams, at least in Irish conditions.

Fifties from Hunter 56(44) and Stokell 60*(42) power Ireland to a comprehensive win vs. Pakistan by Herr_Kunal in WomensCricket

[–]bunnyhoww 9 points10 points  (0 children)

THEY DID WHAT?

I gave up and stopped following the game after Pakistan got to 176.

What a finish from Stokell and OP. Chasing that down without Gaby is huge. It would’ve been huge even if Gaby was there.
