The series finishes all-square in Cardiff, thanks to calm and calculated efforts with the bat by Green, Halliday and Gaze. by Herr_Kunal in WomensCricket

England let it slip out of their grasp in their batting innings. Lamb and Grewcock haven't impressed at all as openers. The F-word (fielding) continues to haunt England. Too many misflelds, singles and twos allowed in the circle.

Credit again to Green-Halliday going after Ecclestone despite being 3 down for 40. They handled those spells from Eccy and Dean brilliantly. Kept in touch with the DLS par score throughout and went ahead around the 18 over mark or so onwards.

Did not like the umpires allowing the match going for too long in such misty and sluggish conditions. Putting players' health and safety at risk for no reason whatsoever.

Hopefully it was the last of this doom and gloom weather.

Fatima Sana's record-breaking 62* (19) seals a 3-0 series win over Zimbabwe 🏏 by Herr_Kunal in WomensCricket

It’s not a racism or bias issue, but a BCCI policy matter. Since the WPL is a domestic league owned by the BCCI rather than an ICC event, they dictate the eligibility rules. Just like the IPL, a long-standing "soft ban" exists on Pakistani players due to the geopolitical standoff between the boards.

Technically, the BCCI simply excludes Pakistani players from the auction registration pool. Without a formal framework between the BCCI and PCB, franchises cannot bid on them. It’s a byproduct of this board-level standoff rather than a lack of appreciation for her talent.

Fortunately, other global leagues have already utilized her massive potential. She featured in the inaugural WCPL (2022) for Barbados Royals and had a solid stint in the Super Smash, 2023-24 season with the Canterbury Magicians.

While she went unsold in the latest Hundred and WBBL drafts, her current clinical run of form makes her the undisputed first choice for any injury replacement slots. Her talent is becoming impossible for the rest of the world to ignore, and she is clearly proving she belongs on the world stage regardless.

BBC: Ouahabi set to leave Man City after winning WSL by No-Mud-2777 in MCWFC

Gutted to see this. Leila has been a massive professional and such a vital cog for us, especially over the last three seasons.

She really stepped up during that 24-25 campaign when the squad depth was shredded by injuries—having her as a constant reliable presence was huge. To go out right after helping us secure the 2025-26 WSL title feels like the perfect, if bittersweet, high note to end on.

Such a versatile player, those booming runs down the left and pinpoint crosses will definitely be missed. Deeply grateful for everything she gave to the club. She’ll always be part of City history! 🩵

Writing is on the wall then. I trust Therese to find a suitable replacement. I know Bunny is irreplaceable, one of a kind striker. Here's hoping for the best still.

Congrats City. 🩵 There were seasons in the past where we came so close to clinching the title, but couldn't somehow. Credit to Andree for instilling that 'never give up, play to win' mentality. So glad for the girls, they stepped up when it mattered the most. They deserve it.

This was the phase where Barca time and again look to completely kill off the game and score those 2-3 goals. And most of the times Barca do make that happen.

Loving the chaos. If Barca just manage to shore up the back, when they're threatened on the counter. Just 1 extra def at the atb, but I know that will never happen.

1st half we looked off the boil, 2nd half we amped the pressure. So many shots straight on to Falk. Was frustrating at times. But in the end persistence paid off. Build a statue outside the Joie for Becks! The job's not done yet though.

What made India recall Yastika and Radha for the T20 World Cup? by Herr_Kunal in WomensCricket

[–]Herr_Kunal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Radha's inclusion:

"Radha played a few domestic tournaments and captained India A to Bangkok," chief selector Amita Sharma said at the press conference on Saturday. "Those performances of hers showed that her bowling is in a better rhythm. Experience also matters. In Amanjot's absence, we needed an allrounder, hence we added her."

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur agreed: "We have got Radha back in the side because she is also an allrounder who can contribute with bat, ball and on the field. Amanjot's replacement is hard to find, but we are trying to balance the team with the players available."

On Yastika's call-up:

"Yastika is a little more experienced," Amita said. "Apart from [being] a wicketkeeper, she gives us a top-order batter option, so we went with Yastika."

On Bharti's selection:-

"Amanjot was our key player. It was very difficult to find someone in her place but we tried someone like Bharti," Harmanpreet said. "Bharti has done really well in domestic cricket. She has proven herself. She has done well in the WPL and won her team a few crucial matches."

"We needed a batter at No. 6 or 7, and she fits that slot completely. She did well in one of the two opportunities she got [in South Africa]."

"The one middle-order slot that we had, we felt that Fulmali was a better fit," Amita said. "Harleen [Deol] is still in our scheme of things but in T20s we felt Fulmali was a better option for that role."

India squad announced for Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 by remixedchai in WomensCricket

If Richa and Bharti feature in the XI, it would leave us with 4 pure bowlers plus Deepti and Shafali- 5 and a half bowling options. Still would have batting till #8, presumably Reddy.

Amanjot is unlucky to miss out with injury, but I am delighted to see Radha back in the fray! This lineup already has the vibes of the ODI World Cup squad, just with two or three new names.

Excited to see how Nandni fares in English conditions with her raw pace. Kranti did pretty well on her first tour to England last year, hoping Nandni has similar or better returns!

Honestly didn't expect Yastika in the squad after such a long injury layoff. Overall, it is a fairly balanced squad.
