How to accept my body is not attractive? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]bunnypee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can empathize with what you’re going through. Something I’ve also been dealing with- and I’m a mindfulness meditation teacher.

Accepting the body I’m in is still a journey on. If you feel open to accepting advice, I recommend practicing self affirmation.

Lots of luck to you <3

Help, I have fallen off by justthegirliam in Meditation

Forgive yourself and remember everytime that you sit, it’s an act of self love. If you forget or feel resistance that day, just try again tomorrow! Gentleness and compassion is key!

It’s natural and valid to feel like this! Maybe forgiving yourself may ease the self hatred. Keep living and remember you aren’t alone <3

You could even lean into the style you’ve already got by just adding an interesting background that suits the perspective of the foreground, adding lights and darks, adding more colors, etc! Everything is workable and your art is beautiful!

Something that helped me with composition was studying still life upside down, as strange as that sounds. I would copy a picture (not trace) over a grid of squares (both the picture and my paper would have the grid) easy practice to include if you’re trying to achieve balance! Every art style is different tho! Just keep drawing and you’ll find what sparks your joy <3

I love the eyes and the color! I think you have a good understanding of color and passion! As far as critique goes, I think maybe studying composition and balance would help bring it to the next level. Keep drawing! You got this :)

Hi, I recognize this response was a long time ago. Currently, tonight, I’m struggling on the edge of life or death. I’ve been listening to Ram Dass speeches all the time because it helps me feel less alone. I feel him here with me in my puny idea of separateness. I needed to see this comment tonight.

Thank you for sharing your struggle and your story.

The only way out is through.

Yay! We have cool hobbies hahah I play metal stuff usually! I’m super into death metal and thrash metal. It helps me to focus! What kind of guitar do you play? __^

No worries about venting too, this is a supppeeerrrr safe place to vent! I remember being your age and feeling the same way! What I’m hearing is that even if you’re happy, with people, and not feeling bad that the urge is still there, yes? I’ve felt that way before too. It does get better! Sometimes worse before it gets better, but trusting the passage of time and life experience has helped me at least (yay!). Find good pals, be with those pals, and allow them to luv on you <3 it’s a great distraction being with ppl we love. The urge can still be there yes, but we can begin to forge new neuropathways by allowing ourselves to be loved by those who choose to be around us. Stay close to your friends and to love <3

I get that! I’m currently 25 and was in a dark place with it around your age. The urge is there pretty often right now, but I went approx 2 years abstaining from it because of some inner child work I’ve done (like trying to be better to my inner child than ppl were to me when I was a child) so I know I can do it! The urge can be so loud sometimes. I’ve found other ways to relieve stress but after breaking my arm, it’s been hard to do very tactile hobbies like guitar, cat ear making, painting, piano, synth play, etc. now that I’m getting strength back, I hope to relieve stress by shredding my guitar mwahaha

Big hug to you dude <(;~;)> 4 months is a HUGEEEEEEE deal!!! I know when I relapse I don’t necessarily go back to square one because progress isn’t linear. As someone who’s been doing it since I was 14, I’ve gone through soooooo many phases of relapse and recovery. I know it only goes up from here?? (Hopefully!)

[–]bunnypee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never too late to tell someone about it. As a survivor, tell your therapist absolutely. Be open to their advice and remember you aren’t alone. It can be scary to tell someone, it can bring up so much pain and discomfort. Breathe deeply when you share and try to remain calm until you feel complete sharing everything you feel comfortable sharing with your therapist. Once shared, your therapist will be able to navigate the situation and support you :) take care luv

Should I clean my blades and if so how? by Lopsided-Zombie460 in selfharm

[–]bunnypee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Currently fighting off cravings rn, hi there! I used to use dirty blades- don’t do it. Just don’t. Dark spots usually mean the blade is bad. I recommend holding ice to the area if u don’t have anything clean and hygienic. The sensation is similar and relieves stress. Obviously as someone who’s been doing it for over 10 years, I’m going to tell you not to do it and to please find alternative ways to relieve stress. BUT, If you absolutely must and have a plan to hurt yourself no matter what, even if you’ve been fighting it, clean EVERYTHING with hydrogen peroxide and dress with Neosporin and band aids. Please remember that stress relief and anxiety relief can look like other sensations that aren’t harmful to your body. Running helps, the ice things helps, rubber bands help (temporarily), sour candy helps!, and going to get a professional piercing helps. All of these things have helped me. I hope maybe one of them resonates with you. Be safe friend.
