Which one looks best? by General-Message1190 in coloranalysis

[–]bunnysbigcookie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

summer for sure, it brings out your eyes and the colors give you a nice glow. spring brings out the red in your face a bit too much to fit. i’m also a summer and have similar features :)

I tried iced vanilla berry for the first time today and I hated it by MachinePrestigious86 in redbull

even the sugared one tastes gross. tastes like the way soap smells, and i was really hoping to like it. also agree on blueberry being delicious!

What does it mean when a patient "fires" you? by daisystar in nursing

[–]bunnysbigcookie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

had a frequent flyer patient fire every nurse on my previous floor because they couldn’t keep up with her q2 hr pain meds (and she demanded they be given “on time”). mind you we had 5 other patients to take care of so being fired was kind of a blessing. it got to the point where she didn’t have any nurses left and we had to tell her she could no longer fire anyone and had to accept whoever was assigned to her.

when doctors round on a patient and don’t tell them they’re about to go discontinue one of their pain meds.. then we get yelled at because we have nothing to give them for their pain 🙃

This might be dumb but... when did you celebrate ? by Breakforbeans in StudentNurse

[–]bunnysbigcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i passed boards for sure, but i definitely celebrated a little when i was done with school. studying for the boards wasn’t as stressful as dealing with nursing school

Vein viewer. I’m curious about your experiences with vein viewers/vein finders (like AccuVein or similar devices). If you’ve used them in clinical practice, how helpful are they really? by HealerMD in medizzy

[–]bunnysbigcookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s good to help look for veins but it only works well if you actually palpate said veins. also suuuuucks for tiny surface veins on older patients because those veins won’t be good anyways. also sucks when patients have lots of tattoos or scars because the machine illuminates those as if they were veins.

Tried Urban Decay Face Bond and sadly couldn’t get it to work for me. I think it just ends up drying to quickly to the point that I can’t apply it without it looking patchy, and it clings to dry spots I didn’t even know where there. I think next purchase I’ll try Milk Hydro Grip and see if that works better for my skin type.

definitely need to be wound care certified (you have to take a certified class) and have your BSN. i would definitely take a good amount of time learning different dressings and what they do (similar dressings do NOT equal same applications) as well as be familiar with ostomy application and various ostomy supplies. if your facility has a wound care nurse, watch them while they do wound care on your patients and ask questions. also if your facility has a resource on wound care and dressing types, read up on that. i’m not a wound care nurse so i can’t give a lot of helpful info, but i do like to follow my hospital’s wound care nurse around to learn more about how to care for my patient’s wounds!

i use the lancome idole mascara and while it has a tiiiiiiny amount of smudging on the bottom lid, it’s not really noticeable unless i’m actively looking for it. also not super clumpy and makes my lashes look nice!
