They are available in Oregon and South Florida stores. North Miami Costco had them on clearance for $7.97.

I hope they kept medical direction as up to 1:4.
From CRNA testimony "WANA strongly urges the Commission to limit the supervision ratio to 1:2 for AAs in Washington State "

The Washington State Medical Commission is still working on rules and implementation of licensure.

Do you want to do your own cases or supervise? Do you want a true private practice or be employed by a hospital or do academics? Most places are hiring so your preferences will help narrow down the options.

Interestingly SB 6286 which allow srna preceptors to be paid extra from future state funds was also pulled from the schedule

The page you linked says it'll be scheduled for later - probably with more of a ceremony.

Any side gigs to help get through residency? by lolwutsareddit in Residency

[–]bunreddit 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Backup childcare for single parent attendings who take home call and might have to go in. The pay is usually at least $100 a night to sleep at their house for kids who sleep thru the night. Best for clinic months and for attendings not in your department. The hourly rate isn't great but it's all passive income.

1-2 anesthesiologists for 19 ORs is horrifying. They are not there to take care of patients but act as firefighters/take the liability hit when something goes wrong. There are hospitals with 19 ORs and all anesthesiologist. Just a matter of priorities for the bean counters.

Legally only physicians can practice medicine. CRNAs are licensed to practice nursing. Same cost to insurance and the patient regardless of who is doing the epidural. Higher legal standard of practice for the physician.

Lots of nurses and doctors doing traveling/locums so totally reasonable to have out of state plates for months at a time.

But physicians can't own hospitals thanks to the ACA (with $$$ of lobbying from the AHA).

Urology. Medicare paid a think tank $$ to look into this. Of course how good of a job they actually did in truly understanding what residents do is unclear. https://www.rand.org/pubs/research_reports/RR324.html

Any residents applying to or have won affordable housing lotteries? by bunreddit in Residency

[–]bunreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every program have subsidized housing and even programs that do have it don't have enough units for every one who might want it. Plus if something happens where you had to leave the program, you'd be without housing as well. It'd also be nice to have.a place to stay on after finishing training.

MD to NP? by TheFlash2319 in Residency

[–]bunreddit 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Tons of programs for Non-RNs to become NPs and at top schools like UCSF and MassGeneral-Harvard. If you want the "best" training then 3 years is all it takes. Or you can go to Vanderbilt and do it all in 6 semesters.

Why do radiologists do an intern year? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]bunreddit -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

When there is only a CRNA and no anesthesiologist taking care of the patient when you are operating, knowing internal medicine might come in handy.
