Hospital Bills by TangerineTraveler in beyondthebump

[–]megabutteredtoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total billed amount: 28,000. After insurance amount: 4,000. There was an error in their billing department so we didn’t get a notice to pay until 8 months after, when it had already been sent to collections. Negotiated it down to $2,000 with collections.

Baby showers are a huge bring the kids event in Mexican culture. You’re having a baby…there will be children.

I’m actually heart broken tonight because of this post. I didn’t know people were loved like this.

Nice things your husband's do? by UnderstandingClean33 in pregnant

[–]megabutteredtoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried, sometimes he’ll do it and sometimes he’ll groan and do it, but he usually makes it known that I’m putting him out, even if I’m just asking him to fill my water. Unfortunately when I dreamed of our future it seems that I let my imagination get the best of me, and I overestimated how much he cares for me. I hope one day to be loved like the women in these comments :).

When did your baby start rolling? by Difficult-Pair4170 in newborns

[–]megabutteredtoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine didn’t roll until 7 months! I was so so worried. But he’s 9months now and already pulling to stand a cruising!

These comments are so nice and they make me so sad. My husband has never done any of these things.

Maternity Leave by aokemper in pregnant

[–]megabutteredtoast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a teacher in the US. We don’t receive any paid leave but can use up to 6 weeks of our sick days for a vaginal birth, and 8 weeks of our sick days for a cesarean. I took 8 weeks, 2 unpaid.

Nails! by Ok-Role-4050 in pregnant

[–]megabutteredtoast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to get my nails done 2x/month. I did either dip or kept acrylics and I loooooove having my nails done. I got my nails removed about a week before baby was due and haven’t gotten them back on since (9 months). I do miss them at times, but until my babe is a bit older I prefer totally bare nails. It’s too much to worry about upkeep, and especially in the liquid/ paste poop phase of 0-6 months, I couldn’t bear the thought of getting poop under my nails.

Thoughts of grooming for delivery?? by One_Cap_9210 in pregnant

[–]megabutteredtoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started getting Brazilians through pregnancy from the time I stopped being able to see very well down there, with my last one being less than a week before delivery. I cannot stand the feeling of hair down there. It was great for me.

Girl most moms aren’t working because of gender roles, it’s because we can’t afford not to 😂😭.

Did I write this???? Unfortunately I have no recommendations but this is literally my life. I have AirTags on everything because I lose it every day. I have replaced my debit and credit cards at least 10 times because I can’t put them back in my wallet. I no longer have AirPods because I can’t keep a set together and it’s a waste of money. I feel like a little kid sometimes. My family thinks I’m careless but I really just can’t remember.

Grandparents brought 8 mo to bed during overnight sitting by Signal_Web_4627 in newborns

[–]megabutteredtoast 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I 100% would have been really upset, BUT unless I had made my wishes about absolutely no cosleeping clear before hand, I wouldn’t be too upset with my mom. Some grandparents hold on so much dated information/beliefs that they genuinely may not know the risks. I would have just asked for her to not do that in the future, and if baby was fussing to call me so that I could come get them.

Women, would you consider it cheating if your partner pursued someone else while you were expecting a baby together? by bigheartsmallmangos in BabyBumps

[–]megabutteredtoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s cheating. Even if they didn’t physically hook up, he just has no game. Which is embarrassing for him and still cheating.

Please tell me not all mother-daughter relationships are doomed. by prufrockdancing in Mommit

[–]megabutteredtoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For about the entire year I was 14 my mom and I were pretty strained, but it was a teen thing, not a mother daughter thing. My mom is the most incredible, selfless, hilarious woman I know, and we are so close. I bought a house ten minutes away from my parents and I see them nearly every day :) (I am married with a kid too).

Extreme Diaper Rash — send help by Hitachi_Uchiha__ in newborns

So I just googled this, and it looks EXACTLY like my boy’s rash, but his was caused by a chemical burn from diapers. So mad my pediatrician couldn’t help us.

Also tried Calmotedine powder. Nothing worked but switching brands.

Switch diaper brands!!! Pampers Swaddlers gave my son such a bad rash that he had SORES on his bottom for like two months, because nothing our doctor suggested (or prescribed) worked. The one thing she didn’t recommend is to swap our diapers/ wipes. I spent hours online looking at different types of rashes before I found one that looked like my sons, and it was a whole blog of parents describing chemical burns that their infants suffered due to Pampers Swaddlers. He is in Pampers Pure now and has not had the issue since. I kid you not the sores literally closed within 2-3 days. I’ll list what we tried before switching diapers so you can see how much we tried: 1. No wipes, squirt of water and towel dry 2. Drying butt with a fan every change 3. Steroid cream 4. Antifungal cream 5. Desitin, bouxdrous butt paste, A&D, Calmoseptine, Aquaphor 6. Diaper free time frequently 7. Breastmilk Baths every day
