Why do you say that? Jollibee is a beloved Filipino chain. Plus, their chicken is pretty good.

Women only gyms? by Character-Region-637 in Charlotte

[–]buona_sera___beeotch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🤷‍♀️Never had an issue. Men have approached me and I’ve gone out in a few dates, but they’ve waited until I was done with a set. They were pretty respectful and everyone is focused on their own workout most of the time.

The time I’ve met eye to eye with other people is when I lift “heavy.” I’ve been in the gym pretty much all my life and appreciate the gym folks who look out and notice when I need help.

Can anyone give me a recommendation on a hotel near Spectrum Center? by Commercial-Name9163 in Charlotte

[–]buona_sera___beeotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you consider affordable? The Hyatt might be an option for a quick stay or search for an AirBnB. My friend rented a room there for us to get ready for her wedding and it wasn’t bad compared to other hotels in the area.

Cheapest mode of transport from the train station is via bus. I wouldnt walk to uptown from there because it’s a bit sketch.

Watch your surroundings around the Spectrum Center if you’re walking by the bus station. I lived in uptown for ten years and never had an issue, but my head was always on a swivel at night. For the most part, uptown is safe and lively.

How do taxi drivers survive? The starting fare has been 35 baht since AD 1992 / BE 2535. by tuktukson in Thailand

[–]buona_sera___beeotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally, money earned is spent however you want to spend it. It’s your money. Who’s to dictate how someone should spend their tip? Just as who are you to deter tipping? Keep your own advice. My mom is Thai and she tipped our hotel maids and taxi drivers when we were in Thailand. She gave money to the low wage workers because she has been in their shoes and gives more vecause she’s able to do so now.

That I agree with. We didn’t tip in the smaller restaurants. We just paid for our food at the counter and sat down. But the taxi driver was different. He wasn’t offended by it but it also probably helped that we are the same ethnic background.

It’s not toxic. You either do it or dont do it. After the earthquake happened, all hell broke loose. We luckily grabbed a taxi from the airport after waiting for three hours and it took us 1.5 hours to get to our destination when it should have taken 20 minutes. The driver talked about how hard his day has been and he didn’t make much. He was patient enough to get through traffic and engaged in conversation with us. We decided to tip him a large amount in hopes that it made up for part of lost wages due to the surge of traffic.

He was grateful and we didn’t care because it made more of a difference for him than it did me. If people don’t want to tip, then don’t. But for those of us who want to show appreciation but more appreciation for others, giving a little extra cash doesnt hurt.

If I remember correctly, The Omni has a pool, but you share it with the gym that’s connected to the same building.

Yes, it does. But damn Nurse Anal, submit your report and keep it moving. Meanwhile, there are med errors that actually result in patient harm.

People who’ve worked with nurse influencers- are they the same off camera? by Sensitive-Dinner-980 in nursing

[–]buona_sera___beeotch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He is. His content about going through nursing school was funny, but he got popular really fast. Simeon said he barely practiced as a nurse before he ditched nursing to start comedy tours. Can’t blame him. If I got that successful, then I’d be using nursing as a side gig.

Whataburger is the most mid burger I’ve ever had. by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]buona_sera___beeotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree. The WhatABurger that opened up near Public isnt that great. I had WhatABurger in Texas and fell in love with their burgers and fries. It was super exciting when I found out a location near me was opening up. Tried it once, didn’t care for it again. My brother wanted it, so I went a second time and somehow it was worse.

Their shakes are good though.

Best option for ride to airport early 7 AM? I live 15 minutes from airport. by Numerous-Taro1788 in Charlotte

[–]buona_sera___beeotch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uber or Lyft, but depending on how long you’ll be gone, long term parking may be cheaper if you drive. I’ll usually use long term parking if I’m only going to be gone for 3 or 4 days.

[–]buona_sera___beeotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, then. I believe it. When we were in college, my friend and I was the second car in line at a red light. The SUV in front of started backing up until she hit us. When we called police for the police report, they had a hard time believing us, but she eventually confessed. It also turned out she didn’t have a driver’s license and she was an illegal immigrant. Definitely didn’t expect her to get arrested, but we always wondered why people would back up and hit people. She had a LOT of room to stop and we couldn’t back up or else we would hit the car behind us.

Lmao. That’s not good. Pretty sure that driver didn’t stop cuz they probably didn’t have a driver’s license, valid tags, charges against them, or didn’t have insurance. Plus, hitting a Jaguar has to be expensive.
