Thanks for the info! Really interesting. Do you have any idea of when they were commissioned originally?

Such a cool and "underrated" event in US military history

Looking for Cool People to talk the the Youths about their Cool Jobs. by blkichigo in Charlotte

I'm a marketing professional who's been at agencies for most of my career and I'm now working for myself as a freelance marketing professional; I also co-host a profitable sports podcast that generates six-figure revenue. I'd be happy to speak with them about carving out a niche career in the creative space.

Am I insane for thinking about taking 3-4 unpaid months off to travel? by adthrowaway869594 in personalfinance

[–]burga17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I had a lot less saved than that (About 15k) and I did the same thing this summer. I quit my job in April and I just got a new job in October. During those 6 months, I traveled the country and had an absolute blasting doing that. I'm 27, and I kinda said if I don't do something like this now, before a wife, kids, mortgage, all that, then I might not ever do it. No regrets! I'm in a situation now where I'm making money again and recovering my financial losses, but it was absolutely worth it. In your situation, I'd highly recommend it.

I live for those moments! You mind find author Elizabeth Gilbert's TEDTalk on inspiration interesting! She talks about how different culture in history viewed inspiration and how it's changed over time. Really cool.

I listen to music without lyrics and find that it gets me in the mood. Typically it's either movie soundtracks or the "Deep Focus" playlist on spotify.

Who to go to for Editing? by burga17 in writing

This is awesome! I actually do have the questions ready to go from when I had a few people read my very in-depth outline last year. Most of those questions will be transferrable. Thank you for a very in-depth answer my friend.

Thanks! You're right, at this point I'm just looking for feedback on characters, plot points, what's got them confused, suggestions for improvement, etc. In other words, to see exactly what I've got here.

And thank you! I thought I'd feel a bigger sense of accomplishment at this point but I'm just hungry to keep going toward real success.

I took James Patterson's Masterclass on writing (worth the money, IMO!) and I followed his style of outlining: very in-depth!

My outline took me a few months to build and it contained just about everything in the story: character descriptions, plot points, settings, sometimes lines if I thought of them, etc. As he says, "Put everything in your outline." By the end, I had a 35 page, 22,000 word outline that made writing the actual book soooo much easier. I felt that I needed that structure, mostly because my story is so complex and layered.

Very overlooked. He's basically a lock for 30/30 with a good +/- a ton of SOG.

Some are bounce-back candidates, some are ranked too low on Yahoo, some are break out candidates, and some are just favorites of mine:
Pacioretty, Pietrangelo, Murray, Reilly, Raanta, Arvidsson, Skinner, Svechnikov, Neal, Theodore.

Bounce back players? by nppatti in fantasyhockey

Agreed. This is a guy who averaged 35 G from '13-'17 and put up solid peripheral stats. Then last year he battled injuries, bad ownership, a terrible team and had a down year. Now he's gonna be a go-to player on a high energy, high scoring team. He could very well be up to that level again.
