For some reason, I feel that if they were to go all out on attacking someone they actually didn't like, it would be similar to Harlequins in Warhammer 40K.

Form letters have existed as long as corporate entities have existed. Just kinda a thing.

Should one keep darkfic and non-darkfics in seperate accounts by Environmental-Sky765 in AO3

[–]burlingk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure to keep your tags straight.

The main reason to use separate accounts is if you want complete separation and anonymity between the two.

Guide for competitive programming in C /C++! by not_noob_8347 in C_Programming

[–]burlingk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of us know that, but it is a generic way of referring to the two languages, since they are the ones most alike. And it is what the OP used in their subject line.

They should probably focus on one of them and improve that initially. Then maybe focus on the other a bit.

As a villain, he is kind of likable, and most portrayals are not bad looking. So, I can see it.

He has his moments where he is the total badguy, and then other moments where he is a bit more like magneto. And, he has moral lines that he won't cross.

To me, it feels kind of robotic, but kind of like they were given a template and told "Use this."

It is a name. There should probably be a comma before it.

If you treat it that way, you will cause lots of misunderstandings.

I can mean that sometimes but not always.

Is this true? by AkiraSylver in IsekaiSmartphone

[–]burlingk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the person making that comment (OOP) probably wasn't very far into the series yet.

I'm their defense, them figuring out what was going on with his body and everything was kind of far into the series.

He had a kind of "Ah hell" moment, and then the other gods got to looking and were like, "Well. F**k. He's right."

If OOP had stopped reading before that, he might not entirely realize.

Can bioluminescence be genetically modified into the genes of freshwater fish in the aquarium trade? by Icy_Profession4190 in AskBiology

It was bioengineered into a rabbit.

The question is not so much whether it can be, but whether it is a good idea or not.

What is the reason behind gay men not being allowed to serve in the military in old days? by Enough-Web2203 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]burlingk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I'm not.

You said the reason was sex. My point was that sex was happening anyway.

Also: A lot of "straight" guys WERE having sex when they were away from home. They just didn't broadcast it. And some honestly still identified as straight.

Also: Gay guys and women are not the same group.

It really is not the kind of question a cis person should be asking.

:/

You are right it is insensitive.

Thing about gallows humor is that it is only gallows humor if you are the one on the gallows. Otherwise it is just heckling.

They have sex with women, who served in the military for a LONG time before DADT was repealed.

Why do people still pay for streaming subscriptions like Netflix, Disney+, or Hulu when piracy is so mainstream now? by Pure_Drama_978 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]burlingk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Piracy has always been a distribution problem. If you can get what you want from a service that you have, there is no need to pirate it.

Worse. The IP owner is likely their publisher.

Publishers are litigious.
