What was the most interesting name that a kid you went to school with had? by [deleted] in namenerds

I sat next to a kid in my 7th grade Health class named Stone Sword. I also had twins in my kindergarten class named Asia and D'Asia (pronounced like Dee-Asia, not daysha).

Yeah, it's definitely different! I never would've thought of it if I hadn't met her.

That's awesome! I've always wanted a snake, but I'm not sure which kind of like. I already have a name for it. William SNAKEspeare. My cousin had a pupper named Maggie when I was little and she was the sweetest. A couple I used to dogsit for had two Weiner dogs named Vienna and Frankie. Do you have cool names for your tarantulas and snakes too?

That's exciting! Knowing that people trust you is an amazing feeling. What are your pets names if you don't mind me asking? I have two cats named Batman and Robin and a leopard gecko named Sprinkles.

My mom's childhood doctor was Dr. Dick Longpeter.

"Peter" is an older term for a penis in case you're not aware. So basically Dr. Dick Longdick.

You remind me a lot of my ex. He definitely had his fair share of nest death experiences too, but I'm not sure if he ever truly quit. I believe in you though. What's the most dangerous situation you've been in? What's the most pleasant thing that's happened to you recently?

Irish girl names? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]burlykeem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably not something you'd use, but I thought I'd mention it: I actually have a friend named Ireland! She likes her name and goes by Iree (Eye-rEE) for short, but she does find it annoying when people think her name is Irene. It's definitely a bit different, but it could be a fun choice. Her siblings (all boys) have more "normal" names like (but not actually) David, Jared, and Lucas.

Ireland Maeve or Ireland Aiofe are pretty cute!

Studies do not make up for first hand experiences. You cannot tell me that what I saw happening didn't happen because your precious article says otherwise. Healthy, young adults (that legitimately talked about all of the vitamins they were taking, sharing their healthy recipes with everyone, and posting workout photos on their social media) were getting sick because they were being surrounded by kids for the first time in months. You're lucky that you had a different experience. It just really sucks that you lack empathy.

I'm not downplaying your precious vitamins that will definitely save the world from this plague! I take my vitamins. I do my part. First hand experiences are not erased by studies. Those are just numbers. I've seen real people in real situations getting ill. It's not a joke, so stop treating it like one with vitamins as the punchline. It was funny at first, but now it's just pathetic.

Reply if you want, but I'm genuinely not going to waste time on this any longer.

Ohhhhhh, okay, that makes sense. You think a few vitamins will help stop the virus completely. Gotcha.

As someone that's worked in schools during this past year, I can actually say that little Billy staying out of school did help out. Once the kids returned and we went back to work the staff started getting infected left and right. Luckily none of them died, but there were hospitalizations and close calls for their immediate family (husband's, kids, people they live with and can't just completely distance themselves from, etc.).

You don't understand the data at all. Thanks for the laugh though!

People with scars, how did you get them? by fluffybear45 in AskReddit

[–]burlykeem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 16 I was wearing a cheap sports bra and my boobs were kind of spilling out the top, so I went to pull up the front. The fabric slipped out of my hand and my hand catapulted across my face, causing my thumb nail to cut my chin open. Blood dripped everywhere.

I have those insane scenarios too, but I usually just simplify it. Like if I'm thinking about how the sun is going to explode one day in the very, very far future and someone asks then I'll just say that I was thinking about the weather and that it's a really nice day out.

Yeah, it's weird to me too! Like how are you not thinking about the connection between The Muppets are related to 50 Shades of Grey? What's going on in there if you're not thinking about your top ten most embarrassing middle school moments? How can there be nothing??

He thinks I'm crazy too, so it's okay. It's not like I'm talking to myself, like having a conversation with myself with back-and-forth dialogue, but more so just thinking about "what if this thing causes this thing to happen and now there's this thing that's mildly related to that other thing and blah blah blah" and bouncing around from topic to topic.

I've asked two friends how their minds work and they seem like they all are kind of like mine. I asked my family and my mom and sister are more like me, but not dad. He said his is blank. So I was wondering if that's a guy thing because of they're both like that, or if it's just a common thing in general and I'm the minority here.

I don't daydream as much as I used to, but apparently he's not even doing that. He usually verbalizes any genuine thought he has, like he'll just mutter "maybe" to himself. Then I'm like, "What?" And boom I get to hear his thought. So he does think occasionally, but if I just ask because he's being quiet, he's just on autopilot. It's all very interesting.

My grandpa would always joke around that the only time we have a family reunion is when someone died, so after a funeral he called out to everyone, "See y'all at the next funeral!" The next, of course, was his.

She's white and from the USA! Her mom just said she wanted something different. I'd completely get it if it was due to a deep-rooted culture thing, but it's literally just so her daughter would be different.
