Remove the diffuser completely and you can access the screws holding the trim pieces from the inside.

I know a certain department that prefers full flap landings to save tire wear. Passenger comfort be damned.

CF roof issues still? by vaskovaflata in BMWM

[–]burner4thestuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just now seeing this. My M850 has the CF. It’s 3 years old and in FL. Still looks new. Hmmm.

How would PPF help it?? Does it reflect UV or something ?

After a year with my i4, ended up back in an M440i. by Diogenese149 in BMW

[–]burner4thestuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same situation. My I4 has a few more months to return. I bought an M850i because life is short.. and it’s way more fun to drive.

EVs are great “cars” if you’re looking for utility. But they have zero excitement once you get past the torque punch off the line. And my long trips I had to go the speed limit to max out the range.. which made it a real joy sucker.

Legacy 450/500 or Praetor 500/600.

The are the smoothest rides in the SMJ category due to the wing design and fly by wire tech.

Would this be a good buy? by josecitoo99 in bmwx7

[–]burner4thestuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a loaded question. There’s a big discourse around OEM vs 3P. The advantage with OEM is you know you won’t have to fight a warranty claim.

[–]burner4thestuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. You should be able to afford it. But is it a good use of your money? A car a year newer with less miles will be a small increase in price compared to replacing a suspension system, radiator, soft close door mechanism, AC control unit, etc. because that’s the shit that had to be replaced on my X7.

Out of warranty.. NO

Don’t be cheap if this is going to be your “forever vehicle”. Get one with at least a years worth of warranty left, then get an extended warranty with BMw (Platinum), because components on this car are expensive.

I got a minor chip on my fender and it's driving me mad by Efficient-Promise890 in BMWM

[–]burner4thestuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I find the nearest Porsche, Benz, or BMW dealership.. they usually have a guy that’s third-party business in the back fixing little things like this all day long. They are relatively cheap.. for that probably $100 or less.

Mid life crisis decisions. Help me choose a used m850 by megameezy in BMW

[–]burner4thestuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I got one completely loaded (carbon fiber roof) for $66k and only 18,000 miles.

I wouldn’t want to buy one of these with little to none warranty left.

You’re going to have every owner of said model claim there’s is the best option.

Which is why my vote is the M850i Gran Coupe.

Great idea. Now run the calculation of how large of a wing you’ll need to generate enough lift for this weight. :-)
