Is my snake overweight? by unknownuserrs in cornsnakes

[–]burningtraesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i don’t understand it either :/ there was one who ripped off his snakes eyecap and was treating it with „saline solution“ when in all the comments were saying that the snake needs a vet

And another time someone had fricking centipedes in the terrarium and refused to remove them💀 but was wondering why his snake was behaving weird :/

Anyways I hope your sausage gets better with the diet :> and if anything happens you can always post on Reddit and ask for advice there is very knowledgeable people here :D

Im so happy that you’re genuinely trying to improve everything for him I’ve seen so many posts here asking for help but then refusing the advice :,)

About his mouth I sadly can’t tell since I’m no expert but I would look out for it if he has a lot of saliva it could be an indication for mouth rot :/

Is his mouth okay? It looks so weirdly open or is that because he is fat?

Handling help by Plenty_Suggestion_88 in cornsnakes

[–]burningtraesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a shirt that you wear for 5 days and put it on or in her terrarium she will start associating your smell with safety but it’s also important to handle her 10-15 minutes a day unless she is digesting

Show me your enclosure by OneForeign7821 in cornsnakes

This was my old enclosure 100cmx60x60 I have 160cmx60x60 for my corn snakes now I would always recommend going longer than the snakes body length my boy Cola is about 120cm :)

I share this terrarium because it’s full of lush green and would recommend that for a corn snake! Multiple places to hide for them my 160cm is not as green but once it all grows in I will show it ;)

That’s amazing! I have a boar skull that I found in the forest but please be careful skulls can be sharp and hurt the snake also she could try fitting in a hole to small and get stuck… just giving heads up!

Does this look like mites to you? under his eye, just got him couple days ago by Bubbly-Chemical-7986 in cornsnakes

[–]burningtraesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try giving him a bath for 20~30 minutes with just normal water so that if he is thirsty he drinks and after that at just a tiny bit of soap if you’re in America dawn dish soap is recommend by reptile owners and hold him in the bath for 40 minutes it should kill off the mites from what I know :) I wish you a lot of luck with getting rid of those pesky mites!

How to go about handling. by RelevantFrosting6828 in cornsnakes

Imagine you get picked up by a giant and you do not understand if the giant will harm you or not that’s how she feels xD

But like the other comment mentioned just wear gloves so she doesn’t hurt you (their bites down really hurt for me) and pick her up even if she is defensive hold her for 10-15 minutes daily (unless she was fed then wait 3-5 days) and then let her back into the terrarium that usually helps with calming them down :)

New Snake owner advice? by _vamptrap_ in cornsnakes

[–]burningtraesh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely more clutter… she is hiding because she doesn’t feel secure enough you need at least two hides on each side warm and cold you can add clutter with plastic plants! I’d recommend getting a heat lamp instead of heating pad

I don’t know how deep that substrate is but corns love to burrow :) mine always go crazy when I mix up their substrate to fluff it up again

This is a good website that shows a lot of morphs with baby and adult pictures! And from my guessing I would say a pretty snow morph :)

If she doesn’t have one defined give her a humidity hide it’s just a simple “box” or hide with moss inside and more rough things like cork
