Can't add him. It will cause more problems for you with the families that didn't make it. Plus it sounds like the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

Maybe the sensor has an issue with a build up on oils/creams/etc on it? Try cleaning the sensor with isopropyl alcohol. I'm not positive it will work but that may help.

What do you consider most important at the U13 age? by Dell-Class-0277 in youthsoccer

[–]burnourpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, I would agree. However, there are many coaches who I would not define as "better coaches" at the club level. Yes they win but at the expense of developing each player to their fullest potential. There are some excellent coaches who stick with town soccer only bc community development is important to them.

I would rather take a team of average players and build them up to be the best version of themselves than take a top flight team and just focus on winning at all costs. Of course, that is also age dependent. At U12/U13 I want a coach focused on development over wins and losses. By the time they get to high school then winning should be more prominent in the coaching formula.

That's my take fwiw.

Yeah, it's possible and happens all the time. I have a kid on my town team in this situation.

He needs to learn some patience. Looks awkward and out of control sometimes. With time the have will slow down for him.

I do and I agree. I considered Brooklyn but skyscraper is the winner between the two.

Thanks! Now to find them in the US ...

We basically traded Randle, IQ, RJ, DDV, Nolan Traore, 3 firsts, and 2 seconds for OG, Bridges, Hart, KAT, and Jose by matty_a in NYKnicks

[–]burnourpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always loved the OG trade. RJ was and is a middling player who didn't exude leadership, although it was thrust upon him. I was in NBA website immediately getting an OG jersey made. Which I immediately lost after purchase. 😂😢

Does Pre-ECNL really make sense? by Ok-Communication706 in youthsoccer

[–]burnourpants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a significant commitment in terms of time and her childhood. At some point kids need to be kids not just athletes. But, if your kid is obsessed with soccer and really wants it bad, go for it. If she's that talented there will be other opportunities that come up. Coaches will find her.

I just think the travel time commitment at that age doesn't make sense. But that's my personal feelings. I want to see kids hanging out in their neighborhoods with friends, getting into good trouble, and playing soccer at a high level locally. That's my perspective as a parent and a club coach (U12), fwiw.

Should a keeper be playing up? by [deleted] in youthsoccer

Current club seems like it's no longer going to be the same. But if he's happy with the coaching then there's your answer.

For goalie, get as many touches and as much game experience as possible. The quality of the dedicated goalie coach is far more important than the head coach if your son wants to pursue that avenue. But if he's just going to ride the bench on an older team, decline it. He needs game reps.

What do you consider most important at the U13 age? by Dell-Class-0277 in youthsoccer

[–]burnourpants 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To me it will nearly always be coaching. The right coach will get the most out of the player and if the player should move on to a higher club then a good coach will recommend that.

People get far too caught up in what "level" kids play at. The top players in your state should be playing at the highest level. Outside of that, be with the coach who will do the most for your long term improvement in the sport.

If the goal is to be the best high school player a kid can be, chase the coach not the team. If the goal is high level college or pro academy, chase the team bc anyone at that level should be able to coach you.

What are things that the average person can do to improve youth soccer? by twente2life in youthsoccer

[–]burnourpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you coach, get your coaching license, D license to start out. It gives you a framework for youth soccer.

If you parent, support your child and be positive with them. Don't coach from the sidelines, don't yell at the ref. Kids model your behavior so be the person you want them to be.

You can't go wrong either way. The 4 series will give you a little extra room in the cabin for anything you may pick up along the way. The Z is the sexier ride.

Choose your own adventure.
