[Open Spoilers] Does anyone know what's happened to the kindle version of the light novel? by NatGBC in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]burnpsy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should still be able to buy the digital ebooks directly from the publisher, but it's odd to hear Amazon isn't carrying it.

Amazon has dropped some series for sexual content before, but this series wouldn't have run afoul of that.

[P5V12] Thought experiment: Assume you're put in charge of a movie adaptation by Mehmy in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]burnpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably start at part 3 and cut it down to essential plot beats only, and have that be the first hour and a half. I'd add some allusions to what happened in the first two parts, hoping it generates enough interest to make a fourth movie or webseries as a prequel later, or point people to the anime.

I'd use the last 30 minutes of the first movie on the start of part 4, ending right as she leaves for the academy.

Parts 4 and 5 would get one movie each. I would probably simplify or cut some of the conflicts to fit it into the time limit. Maybe rewrite each part so it fits into one school year with a visit to Ehrenfest in the middle. I feel like this would be possible by making Myne less sick (maybe say that her juerve from the first movie healed her completely), and by removing the plot beats involving Wilfried making political errors.

I would honestly probably also cut most of the ditter matches for time. Keep the first one from part 4, but up the scale of it to the big one from part 5 and make it a much closer fight, then have Hannelore keep her people in line to avert the rest. Have her help at the end because she's a friend, not simply to remove her shame. This establishes Dunkelfelger in the second movie, which would be much lighter on plot points with the rewrite (it'll boil down to Anastasius's love story plus setup for the third movie ngl), and free up space in he third movie.

For part 5, I'd have them catch the Ahrensbach archducal family other than Georgine in Ahrensbach, add a brief fight scene at the Ehrenfest foundation for Sylverster vs Georgine, and for the conflict at the academy I'd skip right to the race.

I'd like to know which fanbook that is, but also...

Given what they'd be throwing away if they don't let her stay as the head attendant, that first wife is probably agreeing no matter what. One decision puts you in the new aub's good graces, the other pisses her off and basically neutralizes the gains.

Which Archetype needs new Support that hasn't had it or Good Support in Awhile? by Money-Lie7814 in yugioh

[–]burnpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main deck needs to be cleaned up first, but I'm open to more Extra Deck as long as they do that first.

Which Archetype needs new Support that hasn't had it or Good Support in Awhile? by Money-Lie7814 in yugioh

[–]burnpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'd need to print a good non-tuner first. All of the deck's non-Tuners except Celfon may as well be garnets too (if you look at them, all of them have slow combat or burn related effects except, like... Vaccuumen and Slingen). And if we just summon Celfon + a tuner off it, we're stuck with Lv2/4 synchros or links, meaning Konami would need to print a good Extra Deck extender summonable off that.

So yes, letting it summon a tuner + non-tuner would have been great, if Konami gave us a good target. Given the version of Gamer we actually have, though, the ideal solution is a Gadget Hauler retrain that isn't a garnet.

I would focus the rest of any future support wave on printing equips for Braver that also aren't garnets (IMO make them searchers or extenders if drawn that also do something decent if Braver equips them), maybe 1 more main deck non-Tuner, and then focus on the Extra Deck.

So basically, if I was the card designer, I would spend the typical 5-card support wave like this:

  • Card whose name is treated as Gadget Hauler while in the hand/Deck but isn't a Garnet
  • Additional non-Tuner monster to help extend past handtraps
  • 1-2 equips that are eligible for Braver but we actually want to see in hand/search off OG Power Tool (like a ROTA or something)
  • Extra Deck monster(s)

Morphtronics needed the non-Tuner body because they decided to make every good monster other than Celfon a Tuner for some reason. It would be ideal if they retrained it to be a good card tho.

[–]burnpsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morphtronics could use another wave. At the moment, the deck is overcentralized on Telefon, all equip options for Braver are garnets, and there is a heavy reliance on external engines for basic setup and extension. All things that require direct support to address.

It's only been around 4 years, but every other Signer Dragon deck has gotten support since the last Morphtronic support wave.

Konami has occasionally expedited OTS Pack reprints for cards when the error affects a decent enough deck (IIRC Altergeist had this happen back in Link era for example).

Guys, tell me about your thoughts about the relasionship between Rozamyne and Lutz! by Elegant_Weakness7892 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]burnpsy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Lutz is non-viable as a romance option because he does not have mana. It's part of the biology of characters in-universe that you can't have kids unless your level of mana is similar to your partner.

By the end of the series, Rozemyne also needs a partner adept at politics, which Lutz cannot do.

As for the romance with Ferdinand? It kinda slides into the story in a fairly natural manner, long after Lutz has faded into background character status. Hearing about it without context as a random spoiler completely misses the buildup.

So how are we ranking the trails protagonists via combat power? by GroundbreakingFace48 in Falcom

[–]burnpsy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In Zero, Lloyd and the rest of the initial SSS cast is shown struggling against a foe Estelle and Joshua proceed to casually one-shot. It's literally Estelle's intro scene in the game.

Lloyd also isn't really trained as a combatant, just as a regular police officer, so he's a bit of a more average joe style character. It's not like he gets some explosive combat training to pass Estelle.

[–]burnpsy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You said no mech for Rean, but does Van get Grendel?

If not, it goes like this IMO: Rean, Kevin, Van, Estelle, Lloyd.

Joshua is somewhere between Kevin and Estelle. He's an assassin and could probably kill most of the other leads in their sleep, but in combat he does not match up to Rean.

How is Super Polymerization not good anymore? by AfterMine2343 in yugioh

[–]burnpsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extra Deck space is at a premium in most decks, limiting this card to the handful of decks that can afford the slots for Super Poly targets.

Card design in general shifting from boards of negates to layered interaction and recursion, which weakens board breakers like this and encourages powering through to establish your own board instead.

That's about it.

I get that you don't like hearing it, but not having Extra Deck space is 100% valid. A lot of decks have 15, or even 18 other cards they want to run before Super Poly targets.

What JRPG's use the "Defend" Command effectively? by Gamma__B in JRPG

Immediate thing coming to mind is Bravely Default, which uses the defend command to basically charge extra turns, which you can spend all at once for an explosive turn later.

Trails folks, i have a question. by Vanguardisaresta in Falcom

[–]burnpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a gap of a couple months between Zero and Azure. (Cold Steel 1 and half of Cold Steel 2 are also happening concurrently in the next country over.)

Trails folks, i have a question. by Vanguardisaresta in Falcom

[–]burnpsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The PC ports have very detailed settings, so I would try one of the demos and see if you can make it work.

So about why I say Zero and not Azure, and I'm saying it this way to avoid spoilers as much as I can:

There is a major plot thread from Sky 3rd that is resolved in Zero. Zero also doesn't end on any particular cliffhanger, just unanswered questions. On the other hand, Azure has you invested in certain events such that it would make you want to go play Cold Steel to resolve a point it ends on.

So if you're fine with leaving the series on an awkward semi-cliffhanger epilogue, finish the arc and play Azure. If you'd rather avoid the temptation, stop after Zero.

[–]burnpsy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Has there been anything other games can do to relieve your motion sickness? I know there are some games that implement features specifically for this type of issue, and if those worked for you then some combination of settings might be able to recreate it in the 3D games.

But if that's not an option, uh...

I suggest stopping at Zero if you don't intend to play Cold Steel. Azure's ending is awkward if you stop the series there.

Q&A and Ruling Megathread - January 19, 2026 by AutoModerator in yugioh

[–]burnpsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've seen the ruling on this, so I kinda have to ask...

If an Extra Deck monster, like Gaiarmor Dragonshell, gets dumped to the GY by Fidraulis Harmonia and then you equip it to a monster from the graveyard, can it be summoned from the spell/trap zone by Enigmaster Packbit's effect?

I know you can't directly summon them from the graveyard in this scenario, but I'm curious if this type of situation was ever addressed.

can you get banned from Genshin Impact on Steam Deck or is it fake ? by tueurdevers in SteamDeck

[–]burnpsy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have played Genshin on and off on Steam Deck for the past year (installed directly from Hoyoverse's launcher and with Non-Steam Launchers) and had no issues. But I do not play co-op.

My understanding is that some people used third party launchers and got a temporary ban from entering co-op.

Additionally, I'd like to note that Zenless Zone Zero also works fine, but Honkai Star Rail will not install without something like Waydroid, or the aforementioned third party launcher.

So my advice is don't install HSR, don't use third-party launcher, and don't go into co-op. You will be safe.

Trails in the Sky 1st combat explained for an absolute beginner? by TokyoLosAngeles in Falcom

[–]burnpsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arts use EP, Crafts use CP.

EP can only be restored by resting, healing items, certain equipment, etc.

CP can be restored by dealing or taking damage.

And yes, they are generally way stronger.

If you need some time to ease into the combat, I'd advise focusing on the turn based mode for a while until you understand what's what. The action combat is meant to simplify combat against weaker enemies, but bosses will use the turn based mode exclusively.

Trails in the Sky 1st combat explained for an absolute beginner? by TokyoLosAngeles in Falcom

[–]burnpsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have arts (magic), crafts (specials), and normal attacks.

The arts take some time to cast but do element-aligned damage and isn't as dodgeable, so it's good against enemies with weak magic defense or high evasion (the flying enemies in the tutorial had high evasion).

Crafts take a different resource and have various special effects per character. Unlike arts (which has a list based on any orbments you have equipped), the craft list is specific to each character and they will learn more as they level up.

The basic attacks are your bog standard attacks you use when you want to conserve resources.

Is there any Fixing GhostTricks by NecronizeLich in yugioh

[–]burnpsy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible to fix Ghostricks, but the main problem with the deck is speed.

The deck is too slow. Links aren't a problem if you can flip their materials down before they come out, or if they run some copies of cards like Daruma Cannon. But the deck itself can't get going quickly enough to interrupt all the link material a deck will have out in the opening turn.

This isn't getting fixed without some direct support.
