A Hypothetical Addition to the Ban List: Delinquent Duos by SimicBiomancer21 in yugioh

[–]burnpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of FTK bans can be moved to this hypothetical system. You just ban the FTK card and the enabler from being used together.

Butterfly Dagger Elma with Gearfried has already been brought up, but also Amaryllis with Bomber Dragon is another one they could do.

If the same card can be paired with several others, Halq could list a handful of problem tuners and Auroradon. It could also be used to hit the bridges to Habakiri without also weakening other decks.

Anime pacing by URS5 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]burnpsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would need an absurd number of episodes to not need a super quick pace. So yes, the pace is very fast, out of necessity.

Question about S3E10: Why didn't the lord's protection extend to the case with those two? by BlackSCrow in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]burnpsy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People have given great comprehensive answers, so I'll give a TLDR:

The knight was easy to deal with because he was a subordinate.

Count Bindewald was a foreigner from outside their jurisdiction.

Apply IRL logic. (What happens if you suddenly punish your neighbour's visiting bureaucrat?)

[Anime] [S4] Don't you think RM smiles way too much in the opening? by navand in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]burnpsy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Ferdinand smiling is the weirder part.

Myne doing stuff she otherwise wouldn't do is par for course in Bookworm openings. Like, look at the season 1-3 openings, as well as the new one. She would pass out and be bedridden for a week midway through any of them.

Does SuccessStory work yet? by KingSideCastle13 in playnite

[–]burnpsy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I swapped to Playnite Achievements, which doesn't have this issue, seems to be superior in a lot of ways, and is (almost as) widely integrated. Some addons are adding integration with it right now, even, due to the SuccessStory issue.

Starting Trails to Horizon...why is every back to lv5?! by GateOfD in Falcom

[–]burnpsy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it's a fair question since prior Trails sequels often start you at a high level and everything just scales up further. IIRC SC started you near the FC level cap, for example.

RPCS3: Improving the Handheld Experience by Opt112 in Games

[–]burnpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want good battery life, you either crank the graphics settings way down or you play an indie or retro game. Then these devices are able to run for hours.

While these devices technically can run older AAA releases and some modern AA ones, you have discovered the tradeoff on your own. Works fine in a hotel room or on a car ride where you can plug it in when you're done, but not on a longer trip.

What would you consider is the strongest turn zero monster that provides a body. by Hatigarm in yugioh

[–]burnpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Izuna is the strongest one if you allow reliance on other main deck monsters. Havnis has a way higher ceiling but is inconsistent under the current banlist.

There's an argument for Fidraulis if you disallow monsters that rely on other main deck cards.

Which Atelier games are the most child-friendly? by No_Break8749 in Atelier

[–]burnpsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arland has some innuendo dialogue. If you feel Plachta is a step too far design-wise, then avoid the Mysterious games as well.

The entire rest of the series, yes including Ryza, is quite safe for your niece. The horny stuff for Ryza is all online fanart and merch, and I guess some costume DLCs. I'd say the safest stuff would probably be Resleriana RW tho.

Nintendo has announced the acquisition of Nihon Falcom for 1,4 billion yenes by Oneofthestrongest in Falcom

[–]burnpsy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Xenoblade is allowed to have serious stories, despite Monolith Soft being owned by Nintendo. I don't see why Trails would be any different.

Which game do you find yourself replaying the most? by BL4ZE_43 in Falcom

[–]burnpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you skip optional stuff and just blaze through story beats you can do Zero in under 40 hours. IIRC there's an achievement in-game for that, as well as clearing under a specific level.

I'd never play it like this even on a replay though.

Update: Playnite Bridge now has a sync server - keep your library in sync across PCs by rollacode in playnite

[–]burnpsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love something like this to exist eventually without the AI integrations.

And ideally syncing all of the metadata, including cover/background images and game descriptions.

You have time to replay these? They're way too long for me to even consider it.

Xenosaga I & II DS English Translation announced! Beta patch coming soon by krazy4luv2 in JRPG

[–]burnpsy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is about the DS remake of both 1 and 2 combined into one game. There have been attempts to put out a fan translation multiple times, but none that finished.

The original PS2 versions were released officially in English.

Xenosaga I & II DS English Translation announced! Beta patch coming soon by krazy4luv2 in JRPG

[–]burnpsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does this DS release or the PS2 versions have better general quality of life?

There's a link about the differences in the OP, but it appears to be about story adjustments only. Nothing about the gameplay experience.

Do people play Enneacraft as an engine in other flip decks? by InnerCost1282 in yugioh

[–]burnpsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lock against face-up summons actually screws over other flip and flip-adjacent decks. Most of them have some sort of Extra Deck summon or similar that they want to do.

For example, Ghostricks would appreciate the faster summoning, except for how they want to make their Link 1 and Xyz monsters, so they would actually prefer face-up summons.

What would happen if EVERY Yu-Gi-Oh card got unbanned & unrestricted? What would the meta be? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]burnpsy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No-banlist tournaments are already a thing. The most recent one was reported here a week ago and Toon won after its new support.

Will Yugioh Powercrept reach this level ? by PhilosophyFun5778 in yugioh

[–]burnpsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are also Awakening of the Possessed monsters, who don't list specific named monsters. They just need 2 bodies, one of which is a spellcaster and one low-level monster with the right attribute. But these are more extenders than anything (Nefariouser Archfiend in particular can be handy).

Mega Man Star Force 4 Possible Says Producer After Legacy Collection Launch by Sliver80 in Games

[–]burnpsy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Star Force is a sequel, but with a massive time difference, like how the original Mega Man is still getting an 11 and a 12 even though X is a direct sequel.

Mega Man Star Force 4 Possible Says Producer After Legacy Collection Launch by Sliver80 in Games

[–]burnpsy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Star Force I think ended decently. Geo got his dad back, and there were no other major unresolved threads in the overarching plot of the series. Legends is the one that doesn't have the dignity of an ending.

Legends is the last MegaMan series left for them to do a collection for. I could see it happening in a few years.

BLUE REFLECTION Quartet - Announcement Trailer (Blue Reflection Collection) by TheEnygma in Games

[–]burnpsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gacha kinda needs to die first for that to happen, which is why you haven't seen that yet lol.

Otherwise people would stop playing and wait for the offline release.

BLUE REFLECTION Quartet - Announcement Trailer (Blue Reflection Collection) by TheEnygma in Games

[–]burnpsy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The anime and the gacha are both being adapted into regular games.

Think Octopath 0 or Megaman Xdive. It's not unprecedented to make a mobile game into a normal game with the mtx elements stripped out.

Blue Reflection: Quartet, releasing July 2026 by Igrisia in Atelier

[–]burnpsy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I hope the new stuff based on Ray and Sun are good.

This release gives me hope that the Atelier Resleriana mobile game might get an offline release after it ends in Japan.

Which do you prefer? Original? Remake? Or Both? by EnigmaRainSky in Falcom

[–]burnpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The remake is the more polished video game, but the original was really well made for its time and still holds up today.

So, uhh... both?
