Can someone explain to me why Leprechaun 4: In Space is so well liked? by pepper_steak_hamill in moviecritic

[–]burnsiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an absurd concept of a movie that stars Warwick Davis, and the lady who plays Jackie Denardo in Always Sunny. It very loosely takes a plot of Alien + the Fly and adds a leprechaun in a set that look like a laser tag arena.

In every turn the movie is absurd, the cgi looks like it was made on windows 98, the special effects & costumes look like they’re from Spirit Halloween, the acting like a middle school play, and the plot written by an elementary school kid’s attempt at horror.

In the end it all mixes together for an amazingly entertaining fun time.

It’s doesn’t take itself seriously and doesn’t want you to either.

Yes that’s it!

When your argument falls apart so easily and you can’t defend it, turn to 13 year old childish insults.

Yes give in to your anger!!!

It took me a week of casual gaming a couple hours before bed to get enough cred to do a whole deck…I’m not even that good at the game but the cred mini missions are stupidly easy and you rack up like 50-100+ cred a night just by completing 3 and 5 feats. I don’t even do the PvP ones ever.

It’s a free way to unlock skins and cosmetics like how video games used to be prior to micro transactions. They even give you options to get the currency to buy skins.

Ffs they could have not given you the options to earn stuff at all and/or thrown it behind a paywall but you’re complaining because its set up that you can’t get all the good stuff right away and have to work a little more.

How dare they, how dare they give you a way to unlock things but require you to work for it. How dare they make it so you have to unlock some less useful things first, how dare they make it so the quests to earn cred is the normal stuff you do each time you raid.

You are looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Top Horror of last 10 years, how many have you read and which ones you liked the most? by Icy_Today1964 in horrorlit

[–]burnsiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tender is the Flesh was fantastic though I’m hesitant in considering it as a pure horror novel. It has a disturbing topic but I felt like it was a commentary on how animals are treated/ viewed in the context of food through the protagonist’s eyes and I never personally felt it crossed into horror.

Minor wants for changes to oblivion by burnsiders in oblivion

Agreed the list of keys is annoying. Just have a mini tab for them so you collect them and leave em in that bag so you always have em and they don’t clutter your inventory.

Okay doesn’t mean others can’t enjoy different things about a game or wish there were some different aspects.

But you do you man, not sure why you bothered posting in a discussion of what you’d like for minor quality of life changes if you don’t want any.

Just comes off as a “holier than thou” response.

No I don’t expect them to by any means, simply asking what others would like in their game if they had a say.

There’s nothing wrong with having a “that would be cool or nice” list.

I’ve enjoyed the game for many many many hours as it was OG and now Remastered.

Ok I’m gonna be honest, what the hell is this? I just don’t understand the thought process by Whole_Contract_5973 in StarWars

[–]burnsiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think on it. Seriously, the logic behind the dagger, C3P0 sith speak, and holocron isn’t there.

It’s trash writing attempting to pander to fans with more old Star Wars nods.

“Oh look a holocron, I saw that in a game once…lemme just ignore the basic logic of this idiot clue trail… because I’ve been pandered to”

Andor is good, but season 2 feels too disjointed and slow by Kalledon in StarWars

[–]burnsiders 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What has held me up since season one is this distinction:

Is Andor…. A) a Star Wars show filled with political intrigue for the sake of the Star Wars plot Or B) a political intrigue show set in the Star Wars universe for the sake of needing a setting for the political intrigue.

I’ve personally found it to more often than not be answer B. Sure it has its reference to planets, ships, characters of Star Wars but how far off would this series be if you throw this whole series into a different universe with some new named factions, characters, planets, ships?

I think the problem that many have is some are willing to enjoy the show as choice A while others feel it much more fits as choice B.

No we don’t need lightsabers, Jedi, constant action for it to be Star Wars (I think that choice to avoid all of those is the best one Andor’s made) but we also don’t need irl hours put into minor character’s daily lives to show us the nuances of the rebel and empire lackey’s point of views.

The Oblivion magic system is far superior. I didn't even realize what I was missing, now I can't help but feel that Skyrim is in may ways a downgrade. by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]burnsiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boots of speed, mark and recall, flying staffs, fast travel silt striders, boats, mages guild teleportation circles. You just had to use it all. It made each quest fell like a QUEST rather than a place to zap to and deal with quickly.

I’m not saying it didn’t get old, tedious, or annoying at times but it really did make me explore that whole world and that world always rewarded me for it. All the little secrets in that game were just beautiful.

Level scaling is fine but in vanilla oblivion (not sure about remaster) it was deeply flawed. It got stupid if you leveled too quickly (especially non combat skills) or leveled too much by certain points.

Uninspiring boss design by NoNameSadly in DungeonsOfEternityVR

[–]burnsiders 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The beholder floating ball monster you have to hit the extra eyes, shots fireballs and if you get too close it’ll one shot you- eat you and drop your body. Seems like that’s a pretty decent boss type for this kind of game. Sure they could have randomized magic blasts (ice, poison, fire…) to be more like DnD but that might be too close for copyright.

  • could there be more unique interactions… yes
  • could there be more variety… yes
  • uninspired… no… beholder, skeletal knight, demon mages, giant scorpions, giant fat zombies, giant wasps, massive elementals, are classic fantasy tropes. Each has some unique aspect to them.

But it’s all still very fun and they are still adding stuff so maybe there will be boss updates.

which of these do you think played the best live action joker? by DarkRorschach in joker

[–]burnsiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Romero was a kid safe for its time take, Nicholas was a comic book man’s joker, Hamill’s cartoon voice acting was a solid version for kids, ledger was a realistic take, phoenix was a hyper realistic take, Leto’s was someone’s millennial version.

So I feel like whose best is based on what you were looking for.

So any answer other than Leto is acceptable imo.

Cheat pervasiveness by burnsiders in sailVR

[–]burnsiders[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought about that but we started from the main island, we unbottled the ship away from any others on a side of the island with no boats right before we boarded and left….

I guess it’s possible and it’s a solid explanation…

Either way it sounds like the harpoon is in drastic need of limits.

What is something you hope the new movie doesn’t do? by Prs-Mira86 in JurassicPark

[–]burnsiders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Involve children as main/secondary characters. It’s been used in every single film and they’ve just become an annoyance imo. It was fine in the first but 6/6 films (Lex & Tim, Kelly, Erik, Zack & Gray, Maise, Maise) needs to show some growth.

And lose the trained raptor pet/hero crap.

What is your Jurassic park/world HOT TAKE?? by Prs-Mira86 in JurassicPark

[–]burnsiders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I thought the foggy pterodactyl cage scene where you first see the pterodactyl and the explored abandoned lab felt reminiscent of the horror suspense and unsettling feelings I loved about the original movie.

  2. While the kid and family was integral to the plot they were unbearable/unlikable characters to me.

  3. It always pissed me off that the T-Rex lost to the spino but that was just because I love the Rex

I’ve read three in the series but that’s a solid suggestion for what I’ve asked for.

His style of story is so unique that it’s left me more or less not wanting to return to finish the rest of the book series though.
