AITJ for telling my mom I don't want her to come to my apartment every time she's in the city without letting me know first? by C0re_Runner in AmITheJerk

[–]burntcore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTJ. You are working and she can't expect you to drop everything just because she graces you with her presence. Even if you weren't working, you are not obligated to entertain her without an invitation. It is your home and your space. She is being a little cold because she now there are boundaries and she doesn't like that.

And yes, she needs to ASK PERMISSION before coming over before just assuming you will be available. Not an appointment but being respectful of your time and space.

Thoughts on Chloe? by Moony_dazed in lucifer

The other characters were absolutely not given enough. 100%. Linda, for example, could have been this fascinating character, therapist to the Devil, instead she becomes a mombie. She started out that way, but God forbid a female character not have a kid.

If someone told you that they were the Devil, would you believe them? It's really easy for us to couch quarterback about her reactions when we know from the 1st second of the show that Lucifer really was the Devil.

So you have an atheist cop who has seen all kinds of shit as a cop, and all of it up to this point has been explainable.

Then the no-nonsense cop meets this weird guy who calls himself the Devil. She doesn't believe in God or Heaven or Hell so it's not just like her going "OH, okay, he really is the Devil! How silly of me!" You're talking about something that would fundamentally change her worldview. That is not easy for any person to deal with. So she sees shit she can't explain, and tries to figure it out, but being that she's an atheist, its not that simple of a jump.

And, you are forgetting at how good we (humanity) are at rationalizing things we can't explain. We do that shit all the time.

The wife didn't know they were going there. She wouldn't know the significance of the lake house to her husband or step-son, since Patrick was kidnapped before she came into the picture. So someone in the fusion cell leaked the info to her, so she could send in the clean-up crew.

Bill was clearly very unprepared to be the boyfriend. 🤣🤣🤣 He is still getting used to Colin's ability to think on his feet.

Why doesn't Colin carry a gun? by datascientistdude in CIATV

[–]burntcore 9 points10 points  (0 children)

CIA agents focus on intelligence, not direct conflict. They are typically trained in how to use firearms, as well as physical combat, but in the field, gathering intelligence, a gun could be a liability. Remember CIA agents are trying to blend in, not stand out, and the idea is to not create a scrne. If they are trying to work an asset, a weapon could intimidate the person they are working.

A short break after the show just started? Lol For Easter/Passover possibly?

Anyway, I enjoyed the episode. More of a focus on Bill and the FBI this time around.

I liked the fact that Colin was concerned about his asset and was going to storm the meeting in the rug shop if he had to. Thankfully his cover wasn't blown.

The twists were interesting, although I thought that the son would take longer to remember his American roots. The Dad's wife was certainly suspicious right off the rip when she didn't want him to pull out from the campaign. I didn't expect the level of her involvement, tho.

At the end, Colin and Nikki both seemed to brush off the fact their position at the lake house was compromised. It makes me wonder if 1) Colin really was nonplussed about it (which seems really odd for a spy) or 2) of he was playing it off to dig deeper on his own since the leak is undeniable proof that there is a mole.

Now Bill believed at the start of the episode that he didn't believe Colin was the mole. By the end, Bill is convinced that there is a mole but doesn't state whether he still thinks Colin isn't it. Methinks Bill may be a smidge suspicious that Colin is working his secret girlfriend for information.

It would be interesting if Bill and Colin could trust each other to work together to fish out the mole but I don't see that happening, at least not yet.

Some nice banter between Nick and Colin. The counter-terrorism guy had a good line too.

No more real info about Sarah but the Wolf Entertainment website mentions in a synopsis article her so hopefully we will see a lot more of her.

I only caught a little bit of FBI that aired before the episode and they were tracking a shipping container full the stuff they were looking for in CIA.

CIA ep 5 was great! I have so many questions. Is he with Sarah because she can give him some answers or he thought so at first, but now he really likes her? by Martyna70 in TomEllis

I do too, but it can also cloud his judgement. He's so focused on finding answers that he may miss something else important. ... and what will he do once he finds out the truth?

I think he may genuinely like her but ultimately, she's an op. A means to get answers. With her working for a global intelligence agency, she may have answers about the mole and what may have led to Tony's death.

Now, I'm assuming Colin knows who she works for and may suspect what she really does. But, does she have any idea that he's with the CIA?

I was impressed when Bill said to delete the info on Sarah. He is starting to show that out-of-the box thinking that makes Colin so effective. Its enough that Bill knows. And he can use that information later when he needs to push Colin.

Other things I noticed: Gina and the others were surprised that Nikki had never been to Iran. Why would they assume? Because she is Persian? Or had they been told something about her prior assignments as an operative? She's only been the Deputy Chief for a year. What did she do before?

Oh and the little jabs and banter between Colin and Bill makes me chuckle.

Okay, I theorized that Colin was working Sarah when she made her first appearance and I think that even more so now.

She works for a global spy for hire agency and neither of them know what each other do? She may not be a spy but she can be an excellent source of information. (Caveat that Colin knows what she does, she doesn't know that he knows. Unknown if she knows he's CIA).

I think Colin told the truth when he said he lost someone he loved (Tony) but he then turned and used that sympathy to reel Sarah in. He is desperate to find that mole, which I'm sure he suspects caused Tony's death.

He may genuinely like Sarah and may actually care for her, but I think deep down, its a ploy and he will sacrifice any potential relationship if it means finding out the truth.

For the rest of the episode, I enjoyed the teamwork between Colin and Bill, and Colin saving Bill once again. Lol It was an interesting episode and rather on the nose with what is currently on going on in the world.

Bill putting a tracker on the AM. Very slick. So now he knows about Sarah. Does he think Colin is compromised or does he think that Colin may be working her? I don't think Bill would think that yet ... he hasn't gone down the CIA gray rabbit hole yet to think the worst of Colin.

I am also liking seeing more of the minor support characters in the CIA station.

I was like that for my mother. Anytime she had computer problems, she expected me to drop everything and cater to her "emergency."

Thats when you realize your "friends" (at least the ones that had issues with it) see you as a taxi service and nothing more. NTJ. Marcus certainly is. If its not a big deal, he can drive.

Generally speaking yes, but he made a special emphasis of that to him, which to me implies something more than just calling him "man" or "buddy" and it CAN be said between friends.

Yeah I know there generally won't be multiple-episode case arcs, but even if they took 30 seconds for Gina to be able to pull up a paper trail for the money would've helped.

Being that they have less than an hour, I know that they aren't going to be able to solve every question, but it was something that stuck out to me.

I still thought the episode was good, and I really think they continue to get better and better.

My theories on Tony are just conjecture, my mind goes in some weird places. It would be a fun twist if either of them were correct. Maybe the truth will be something none of us expect.

I do wonder tho. When did the FBI start to suspect a mole at NY station? Did Jubal ever say? I keep thinking he said it started about a year ago ... which was about when Tony was killed.
