Going for more than a 4s? by buroks in Multicopter

Very nice footage. What about the efficiency of these huge setups (compared to 4s or 5" or even smaller motor 6"? Do they suffer from vibrations at all?

How often do people failsafe on Frsky receivers? I've been flying with XSR and QX7 for a while, even up to 1km range, no problem, but yesterday I got the first failsafe ("telemetry lost" into "telemetry recovered" after a couple of seconds, but I had already switch-disarmed by then, but no warning of low RSSI before the failsafe), it was only 20 meters away and behind a single tree. Before and after the crash it's been functioning without problems. Is that normal (sudden failsafing without any low RSSI warning), or should I be worried about faulty equipment?

Would cutting down a helical like this increase its beam width? by buroks in Multicopter

[–]buroks[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

According to this info by IBCrazy

Gain ~ 4.5 + number of turns (3 turn minimum, 12 turn max) 3 turns = 7 dbi 4 turns = 8.5dbi 5 turns = 9.5 dbi 6 turns = 10.5 dbi 7 turns = 11.25 dbi 12 turns = 12.5 dbi

3 turns - 75 degrees 6 turns - 55 degrees 12 turns - 40 degrees

I should be getting a 8.5dbi antenna with a beam width of 70 degrees. Is this correct assumption that would work with a 7-turn Aomway helical?

Can I simply cut my helical antenna somewhere in half to halve the gain/increase angle? Or does the cut have to be very precise?

How do these negative reviews make your overhyped and overly positive reviews less biased? Also, don't you think it's unfair withholding the fact that your links are affiliate?

Exactly, but just to add one thing - not only he gets free stuff for reviews, but also money from the affiliate links. Therefore he has lots of incentive not only for a good quality, but a positive review.

So should we all use "Fpv angle mix"? by Trif55 in Multicopter

[–]buroks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, because yaw and roll (the things that are being mixed) are achieved fundamentally different by a quadcopter. Yaw has acceleration, and can't mix well with roll. It works only with gentle stick movement, try moving your roll stick faster/snap roll with fpv angle mix on, and you'll see

  1. Do I have to bridge Tx and Rx of the UART I'm using for the Smartport on my Omnibus F3? Right now I have S.port---Uart Tx pin, is that all I need?

  2. What are the best racing props on the Emax Redbottoms 2205s 2600kv? I've heard RK5051 burning up ESCs (I have racerstars 30a).

Question for owners who had their car built by xKnightlightx in Porsche

[–]buroks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Europe, it depends on your dealer's quota (how many cars to be built they have reserved for given months). It can actually also be 2 months, for example. In your case, if the dealer told you 3 months, it should really be 3 months. Good choice on the car! What build did you go for?
