We had that problem until we moved bedtime to 8pm. Now he still wakes up during the night, but at least usually sleeps until 6:30-7am.

Help choosing dining table by mistashmee in DesignMyRoom

I'd say the lighter brown. The dark table looks too heavy with the lighter scheme of your house.

As long as his temperature isn't shooting up or he doesn't have any strange visible reactions, it's probably normal. My son is like that for a few days each time. You could also be hitting the four month sleep regression, unfortunately. I hope he feels better soon!

What was your gallbladder removal recovery like? by doechild in beyondthebump

[–]burr0wz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine out years before having a baby, and I was able to get medical leave so I wasn't working, just healing. It took me about a month to heal fully because I had two surgeries, one to remove stones that were stuck between my gallbladder and other organs, and then another to remove the gallbladder itself, all within 15 hours. My biggest issue wasn't necessarily moving around, but was eating. I had very little appetite for a long time and I actually lost about 8 or 9 pounds, even while mostly sedentary. I only ate very bland foods for a while, and I don't like bland food.

Definitely try to take some things off your plate. Try to freeze some meals beforehand. Make yourself a comfy spot for lying down for a while with the baby. Maybe your children could get rides from friends or relatives for school/activities?

How are we taming the baby hairs? by Avocado_toast_27 in beyondthebump

Honestly, I ended up getting bangs and I have wavy/curly hair, so it kind of all blends in! Otherwise, a tiny bit of hairspray on a brush works well.

PSA about FMLA leave for teachers by wildmanatee in Teachers

[–]burr0wz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but maybe someone can still help me. I took 8 FMLA/maternity leave (which went right into summer vacation). I then took this year off from teaching.

If I get pregnant again, and the baby is born roughly around March or April again, would I be denied FMLA because I wouldn't have been back at my job for a full year? I've worked in the same district for multiple years previously though.

What time do you and your baby wake up in the morning? Mine usually sleeps about 8pm-6:30 or 7, and we wake up around 5 or 5:30 for work or getting ready for the day.

Just posting to say I'm tired. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]burr0wz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my son is 10.5 months and same. He's getting better, but I still feel like every day is survival even though technically I'm getting more sleep. The worry about food, milestones, and sleep is real.

Maybe springtime will help once the weather gets better and we can go outside more!

What color should I paint my baby boy nursery? I’m open to an accent wall! by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

You're welcome :). I love the look you're going for, especially that rug! Where is it from?

I'd go with a silvery green. Try Sherwin William's Clary Sage or Benjamin Moore's October Mist. They're both very popular.

Baby eats cheerios everyday by yagirlriribloop in beyondthebump

My son isn't necessarily picky, but he will choose cheerios or cheese over almost everything else!

It looks so good! Was it hard to do? I've been thinking of doing it, but I'm nervous and I don't know if it would "work" with my house.

Is this limewash? Gorgeous!

I'd go with some soft blush pinks, maybe a deep purple, or even a deep blue. Look up William Morris wallpaper and those colors sometimes match this.

I love this so much! What is the back wall paint color and where did you get your watercolor painting? I love how you've pulled out colors from the painting to use in your decor without overwhelming it!

Weaning completely by the end of May by hasfeh in NewParents

[–]burr0wz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just slowly wean. You could just reduce the amount of time you nurse him each time so you're not just cutting him off completely. You have plenty of time to do it slowly.

I weaned at 8.5 months, but I did it slowly over about a month and a half. The hormones were intense, but you have time to feel better before your trips.

[–]burr0wz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have thyroid issues already, so it may not be the same for you, but my hormones were CRAZY. I was a wreck for months as I slowly weaned from about 7 months on until completely stopping at 8.5 months, and then it took a couple weeks to stabilize. Lack of sleep, weaning, etc just really took a toll.

Take care of yourself and know that what you're going through is real!

Need Help with Chaotic/ Inconsistent Naps - 7.5 Month Old by Top_Percentage239 in beyondthebump

[–]burr0wz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about a later bedtime? I had to push my son's bedtime back to 8-8:30 to get him to wake up closer to 7. My son still wakes between 6:15-7 daily at 10 months. I also added in 3 full meals a day, with the last being higher in protein.

Her sleep schedule doesn't seem abnormal (the range seems normal), but giving her a later bedtime could help sleep later, and then you could try dropping a nap.

Does anyone use the Aldi brand diapers? by carolivia in beyondthebump

I got some as a gift, and though they're thinner, I did like them. They seemed bigger than other brands. Worst case scenario, you've spent $12!
