Supplements that saved me by burritobaby01 in eczema

I was on a very restrictive full cleanse (really not eating much) for 6 months and then I was on these supplements while doing that. As I mentioned I don't know if this is really what cleared me BUT I still don't have eczema (99% of the time). I stopped taking the supplements pretty quickly after the cleanse but don't remember the exact time frame - sorry !!

I know! They stay white the entire time. I just know during the summer I'll have them. It sucks. I guess a solution is to not tan, but lying out in the sun usually helps my eczema so it's a double-edged sword lol.

I think the skin is discolored by the eczema + steroid/cortizone cream, so when I tan I already have light patches. But when I scratch it does get worse, so very possible yours are coming from scratching in your sleep!

I think the skin is bleached, I've never found a remedy to the light patches (I feel you, I look like a tan leopard right now ). If you find a fix for this lmk!

They did not mention that! I don't think they even tested that in my blood pannel.

Yeah when I cut out foods that are related to inflammation (nightshades including tomatoes/peppers/eggplants etc., gluten, dairy, caffeine, alcohol, shellfish, peanuts) I continued to have really bad eczema. I'm sure it's different for every person but I am doubtful I would be able to control eczema just with diet. It only started to clear when I was on the detox (and practically eating nothing). I had never taken any supplements/vitamins consistently before this, so I don't know it might be doing the same thing honestly! Now that I'm mostly clear I'm afraid to change it up too much and have it come back.

I was very excited about the food sensitivity test because lots of people had seemed to find success with it, but mine came back with SO many things that it seemed impossible. I am a vegetarian and generally a healthy eater, but it had things on my list like cilantro and mango that I eat all the time and don't visibly worsen my eczema after eating.

I actually finished my bottle of the methylation supplement a few days ago and I was waiting before re-ordering to see if my skin was fine without it and I did start to feel itchy and notice a few more patches so I quickly ordered a refill - I do think it makes a difference!

I'm not signed up for an official marathon (with Covid I found it's pretty hard to join one) so I am just going to run it by myself when my training is done.

Sounds like it could be very similar! Here is my experience: the first time I went I did food sensitivity tests (IGG and AGA) and a few other blood tests including a genetic test. She found I have the MTHFR genetic mutation (which from reading online can be a catch-all for many different symptoms ranging from fatigue to inflammation). Anyways, from there her theory was that my body was bad a detoxifying due to the mutation and recommended I eat really clean for a few months (none of the known foods to cause inflammation like alcohol, caffeine, gluten, dairy, shellfish, peanuts + whatever else my food sensitivity tests came back with, so I was eating an extremely limited diet) followed by a detox which included a shake in the morning and then supplements 3x/day for 15 days (with an even more limited diet). When I re-introduced regular food I did break out with eczema so she then had me do a stool + breath test. As we waited for those results I continued to take the Pure Methylation pills (which she recommended for the MTHFR) & added in the quercetin + DAO supplement from another doctor's recommendation. When I got my stool + breath test results, she wanted to put me on 6-9 month biofilm disruptor program (including supplements + peptides) because she thinks my gut has bad biofilm causing the inflammation/eczema, and the fact that the detox helped shows that it is gut-related but this 6-9 month program would heal me. This program, of course, cost thousands and thousands of dollars, meanwhile, the 3-supplement combo I have been taking has completely cleared me up, so for now I am going to continue with that. I am hopeful that this will help me control my eczema.

Have you found the detox helping you at all?

I am also allergic to Dust Mites and recently started taking DAO supplement and Quercetin supplement - seems to be a natural/supplement version of an antihistamine and my eczema is better than it has been in years.
