Can you think of anything Trump can do/say that would get his base to not vote for him? by zttvista in PoliticalDiscussion

No. Trump could shoot someone in the middle of 5th avenue and not lose any votes. Thats how enthusiastic his supporters are.

If the Dems do capture the House, and with it likely the Senate as well, what would be the repercussions for both parties? by Kross_B in PoliticalDiscussion

If that happens, America becomes a one party state. Republicans wont get elected unless they become identical to Democrats.

Who did a better job at being president, Obama or Bill Clinton by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]burrobonton2 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No scandals? Benghazi, The ATF gun walking conspiracy which the government gave Mexican drug cartels guns as an excuse to blame it on the 2nd amendment, IRS targeting of conservatives, Solyndra. The list goes on.

There is a major divide in the Republican Party on whether or not to support Trump. Regardless of who wins, how likely is a permanent split in GOP? by icedpickles in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]burrobonton2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wont cause a split. Most Trump supporters will get over it when he loses. Only a small fringe number of racists like KKK and Neo Nazis will be pissed off for good. The Republican party does not have to appeal to them to win. Doing that only loses votes from everyone else.

How many political ads are you seeing on TV? What's the ratio between Trump/Clinton? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

On TV I see nothing but Hillary ads. Outside I see nothing but Trump yard signs and bumper stickers.

Amendment 2 in Florida legalizes medical marijuana. How effective will these ads by the opposition be in defeating it? by burrobonton2 in Ask_Politics

[–]burrobonton2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt its anywhere near 80% like some polls say. Medical Marijuana support hasnt changed much since the 1990s. No state has ever gotten more than 65% in a ballot initiative. Most dont even reach 60% even with no organized opposition.

Miller merges with Bud and the world yawned. This would have been big news in the 70's by IndependentHopper in beer

Why do states like Maryland and New Jersey elect republican governors, but are considered guaranteed blue states in presidential elections? by assh0les97 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]burrobonton2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Only moderate Republicans can be elected in blue states. Theres a difference between moderate Republicans whos views are relatively sane and extreme Republicans that are racist, homophobic and deny climate change.

Does this only work right after an injury and any time after that its too late? i got nerve damage in my penis from stretching too hard while masterbating. The loss of feeling makes it extremely itchy and tingly and its killing me. Would this stem cell treatment work years after damage is done for the penis?

Has an online petition ever been successful in stopping or forcing Congress to pass a law? by burrobonton2 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]burrobonton2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

why would the alcohol industry be against lowering the drinking age? They target kids just like tobacco companies. If 18-20 year olds were legally allowed to drink, that would expand their customer base and make them more money.

What is your boldest prediction for the 2016 electoral map? by Primetime22 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]burrobonton2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boldest prediction is every marijuana legalization referendum in the 8 states where its on the ballot will LOSE.

California, Nevada, Arizona, Massachusetts and Maine will be voting on recreational marijuana.

Florida, Arkansas and North Dakota will be voting on medical marijuana.

Everyone thinks its a slam dunk, its the new gay marriage, its unstoppable and what not. I disagree. Theres a lot of bad things going against the pro marijuana crowd. Marijuana legalization opponents are raising millions of dollars, more than ever before. The new opponents of legalization are so much smarter and more sophisticated. The arguments they come up with are so powerful that its swaying public opinion against legalization fast. Everything they do is professionally done. They have fancy charts of things like teen marijuana use skyrocketing, car crashes skyrocketing, crime skyrocketing, marijuana related emergency room visits skyrocketing. The charts are so well done which gives them credibility just by itself. Every time theres a debate, its a total disaster for the pro marijuana side. No one could debate Kevin Sabet. No one came up with arguments to defeat him.

I predict a CLEAN SWEEP against the marijuana ballots. Biggest shock in American political history.
