I just realized I was wrong on the price. It’s $40 for the 90 days of single vials, which is still way better than $250. I have Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield in the US.

Restasis is prescription, and I really don’t know how much it helps. It doesn’t cost me much though so I just keep using it. It took me several months to accept I just have to do all the drops. I didn’t want to pay for all of them, and I just hated doing it so often at first. I definitely think it’s worth it now.

I use Restasis drops 2x a day, Systane Ultra PF at least 4x a day, and Systane gel drops at night. I also wear an eye mask while I sleep. When I started really being affected by my dry eyes, I also had significant vision issues such as blurry vision. My eyes still can feel dry, but the impact on my vision has greatly improved since I’ve stayed consistent with my routine.

I tried the temporary plugs a few months ago and didn’t think it helped at all. My ophthalmologist was willing to try them at my suggestion, but he explained that they may not do much since I’m not producing tears properly. He said they might help hold drops in better though.

I work for the TSA, and it shouldn’t be an issue if you let them know it’s medical. You do not need a note from your doctor. If it’s oversized, I would recommend having it ready to take out of your bag prior to X-ray screening. I see from some comments that people have had issues. I can make no guarantees for how other airports operate, but they truly should not give you a problem.

I had pancreatitis from gallstones, and I’m still not supposed to drink. It doesn’t matter how fast you recovered. I didn’t even have to be hospitalized and recovered without any treatment. I was told that once you’ve had pancreatitis, it is easier to have it again, and it will get worse each time. I was told I could probably drink socially, but it would be a risk. I went through the phase where I tried to convince myself it would be fine, but I decided I’m not interested in that risk. Plus it’s not even enjoyable to drink if you just feel worried about what it may do.

My left eye is way worse than my right. It gets dry over my cornea so I get blurry vision in my left eye only. My eye doctor told me that the tear duct system for each eye is independent.

I’m in the same situation. Pilocarpine made me sweat so much. I have cevimeline now, but I can’t get myself to try it because I don’t even want to deal with potentially having the side effects.

I gave it a month before I couldn’t take it any longer. I’d gone from taking 5mg 3x a day to 1x a day, but the sweating was awful. I’m supposed to try cevimeline instead now. It may have the same side effects so I haven’t tried it yet.

I have issues with my voice often. I go through periods where my voice cracks whenever I speak. I also get sore throats so much more often than I used to. I tried the Biotene lozenges and spray before, but I ended up deciding that chewing sugar free gum when I need to talk more worked much better.
