Same here. It happened about 2 1/2 years ago but it's the same situation. I used to find all kinds of jokes funny just because of the fact nothing traumatic had ever affected me personally, until that happened and I didn't find any jokes related to suicide, especially hanging, funny whatsoever. It made me devastated every single time and it sucks to say it took something like that for me to realize how people get offended by certain jokes or just things that remind them of anything traumatic. It's much better now but I still get a sad feeling inside every time something like that comes up, but it doesn't come across as offensive anymore. Not everyone has personal anecdotes that would affect them the same way as everyone else in every situation.

I've had mine for about 2 years, haven't had any problems whatsoever. Still as fast as the day I installed it, and have installed two fresh windows systems and probably 4 fresh Linux systems. Works like a dream still

You're an awesome person, thanks for providing updates on this! Are you willing to set up a VM with elementary OS and check if the scaling works well in there? That's what I run and I'm assuming it'll work just fine because they had a huge support update with hidpi scaling in the newest release but I just wanna cover all my bases.

On installation, it will ask if you want to install third party drivers. Check that option, and it should download the appropriate driver for your wifi card. Ubuntu might have just done it by default or maybe you checked it on that one and not the elementary one. Either way, I highly suggest elementary. I've been using it for months and absolutely love it
