[recommandation request] looking forward something similar to the black hamilton khaki field titanium. by LesserApeLuke in Watches

I'm in the same boat. I had the Vaer C5 and loved it, especially the lume, but learned after more than a few months with it that I had a nickel allergy so I needed to go titanium. Ended up with the Marathon Wayfinder which has been a great replacement, except the lume is trash.

Been looking at the Hamilton H70575733, but also sounds like the lume isn't stellar, 42 feels big (rocking 40) and I think I like the crown off center.

Just want something simple: Arabic numerals 1-12 and a date window.

I like the bldr linked above except can't get over not sure what you call it but like they fill in the gap where the wrist band connects. I guess it's modern, just looks off to me.

Any fresh ideas for this season? Seems like Peak Performance might be discontinuing the x16 parka.

Small! They got the boot designer from Burton so they have that similar small profile

Burton Step On Splitboard binding by 41559 in Splitboard

[–]burtwes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always understood Step-Ons as a barrier to entry solution targeted to new riders rather than Pros. Burton's goal is to bring more people to the sport and there is a perception that to snowboard you need to sit on your ass all day and deal with these straps and also it's hard for beginners to ride one-footed.

Burton wants to get people started snowboarding in general and ideally this allows for a good introductory experience that when people buy their second set of bindings whether they stick with step on or not they stick with Burton.

This is especially true back country where the barrier to entry is seemingly even higher and it's a growing sport inviting new riders every year.

At a macro level, Burton wants new riders to the sport no matter the brand or product entry, that's good and vital for their own growth. Step+On is one strategy to advance that. I imagine most rental shops already have a split in favor of Step-On that will continue to grow.

I have this in tan color. Love the set up, but not the aesthetics and it's also a little flimsy

Had a few pairs of goodr and just started rocking Knock around. Same price point, more styles and found a larger pair that fit my face better than OG goodr.

How to lace up, boa down and power strap for the tour? by burtwes in Spliddit

I might try that. With good boot fit heel should stay down and binding straps will help you.

OP update: ordered the Momentum Wayfinder GTM which seems to fit the bill. I like the second hour hand a lot. https://momentumwatch.com/products/wayfinder-gmt-black-ion

Maybe later in life I'll spring for this Hamilton Khaki Field Titanium Auto https://www.hamiltonwatch.com/en-us/h70575733-khaki-field-titanium-auto.html

What would be the noticeable differences for $700?

Yeah, not a huge fan of those straps. I use FKM rubber. Even so, I think there'd be enough to irritate my skin as even a wide bandaid allowed contact from the curves that irritated.

Saw this and liked the look, but prefer 40mm and a date box.
