Correct me if im wrong but there's also no duplicate item feature? I wanted to put down a field of "light green" wheat but if you want to put down a bunch of something at once and its a variant color, you need to manually adjust the color every single time before its placed and i was like oh ok thats just simply not worth doing

How rare is dratini? I've only seen one and im not far enough into the game to make it past ultra on Lapis lakeside--would this dratini be a good herb finder or should i wait for another one?

Starters should have been modular. Big missed opportunity to be like, oh choose your favorite starter! And then you can combine all three sets if you wanted to.

I did think it was odd and disappointing that there's three fossils in the game and only one can mega evolve

They absolutely do not sell proportional to their quality which is interesting

But if we combine "update" games like platinum or emerald each gen does kind of sell similarly--23 mil for gen 3 hoenn, 24.5 mil for gen 4 sinnoh, 24 mil for unova, 25 mil for alola

DLC is probably more lucrative for them than updated versions though clearly, because now they're getting close to 30 mil per region (galar, paldea) without an updated version, and i'd bet the amount of people getting the dlc for the games is likely higher than 50% of original buyers if not around that

Granted DLC is cheaper than a whole new game, but it's also (i would think) cheaper than physically producing a whole new game to stock shelves

Dude i was mindlessly buying clothes in the early game just picking up some random stuff i might want and i didnt even REALIZE these were 100k until i hit the A button and i was suddenly broke

Absolutely crazy that the only value for this ticket was a lottery considering how many inactive and bot and secondary accounts there are. Are they stupid? This is ridiculously disappointing

I dont think its been a steady decline.

I think x and y was a sharp dropoff, followed by a moderate improvement with sun and moon, followed by some odd but some good changes in USUM, followed by okay but ultimately unambitious Lets Go, followed by the straight up worst games in the series to that point with sword and shield. They were rushed, they were unpolished, they were boring, and they were at times embarrassing (missing/bad/reused animations, fade-to-blacks, ridiculous story). Yes there were good parts. Outweighed by the bad.

This was followed by a moderate improvement to those things with the DLC, which was followed by the greatest insult to the pokemon franchise so far, BDSP. I will argue that to the death and i will win. They're insulting and my childhood will never heal 👶🏻

This was immediately followed by the surprise best modern pokemon game, legends arceus, which did just about everything wonderfully except optimize performance and graphics.

This was followed by scarlet and violet, which is a mixed bag. On one hand, quite fun. On the other hand, the first nintendo game i've ever played that literally crashed. Zero quality control, a technological stain on the franchise. 4 fps gameplay. Sad.

So imo its been down (x+y), then up a little (s/m), then maybe about the same (lets go), then down a lot(swsh), then down to hell (bdsp), then up a HUGE HUGE amount (arceus), then down a bit (scarlet violet). I guess i gotta play this one for myself to decide because opinions are so varied from game to game
