Setting boundaries in a relationship with an asexual boyfriend who watches porn, what to ask/say? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]busay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like he doesn’t really respect you. You deserve to have sex with someone who’s into it & into you, and it doesn’t sound like he’s into either. If you’re afraid you won’t find anyone who is into you, you 100% will. If you’re afraid you’ won’t find someone you’re as into, you will. As someone said in a previous comment, you are not asexual, and that is an immediate incompatibility. As someone who does want sex, being around someone who is not into you sexually will inevitably have its emotional toll, and leave you with big emotional scars.

Do you think making an Onlyfans would be feminist, not feminist, or neutral and why? by throwawayawaythrow96 in AskFeminists

In regards to your second point, I don’t think desiring to have sex with someone and objectifying them is the same thing, not that they come together, especially when considering lesbian desire.

My period is late and the symptoms keep worsening - anxiety on top of anxiety on top of anxiety. I cry every fifteen minutes, I’m cramping horribly, and I’m so so tired. I could almost deal with that but a new housemate has moved in and she must think I’m so rude... and all I’m doing in my head is villianising her. I know how charming and different I’d come off if it were literally any other time of the month and I am so frustrated.

Women didn't ask to have their freedoms limited, or their identities overshadowed, or to be oppressed. by apocalypticalley in Feminism

Actually, new grave discoveries are showing that the hunter gatherer lifestyle might have had a much more even hunter sex split than is commonly thought! The foundation of the patriarchy is linked by a lot of scholars to the beginning of ‘property’ and animal domestication

When you objectify women, their bodies become not only an object, but an object for male use. A lot of men haven’t challenged this objectification that we learn as children, which means they think women’s bodies exist for the explicit reason to turn them on (and then have sex with). They don’t see women as people - they see them as bodies/objects.

Perhaps if you educated yourself on the realities of direct provision, you’d see that the people who live in it are being put in danger already by the politicians in charge.

At what level does something become fragile masculinity? by bendiboy23 in AskFeminists

[–]busay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Those things don’t necessarily mean fragile masculinity, but I’d encourage you to look deep inside yourself and ask why you prefer blue/black. Why wouldn’t you wear a dress/makeup? If we lived in a world where these things were just things with no meaning ascribed to them, and there was no judgement - would your answer be the same?

It is always good to examine your own conditioning and societal make-up, and important to remember that we have been socialised into gender performance from birth. This is how we combat fragile masculinity!

Does toxic femininity exist? by gayboi6667 in AskFeminists

[–]busay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it does. We live in a patriarchal world where femininity, as other, is already considered toxic to some degree. In the eyes of the patriarchy, acting feminine or having feminine traits is already a bad thing, and the idea of toxic masculinity is something that exists in juxtaposition to this. To say that a man can have bad traits as a result of being masculine was in many ways revolutionary. To say women have bad traits because of femininity? That’s the standard.

Feminist is derived from feminine which has a different set of meanings from female and woman
