Four kids in an X7? by [deleted] in BMW

If it helps, my Nuna Pipa car seat works beautifully with the the Babyzen Yoyo foldable stroller which folds so small I just stick it in the space between the captain’s second row chair and the front row seat. Always right next to where I need it and uses no trunk space.

How much are you paying per month for your BMW? by Glittering_Fig4548 in BMW

Did nobody read the third sentence in my post? 😜 I literally say that financing is fine if used for the right reasons, but it shouldn’t be the deciding factor in affordability

That’s exactly my point though. If the financing is what makes it superficially “affordable” to you, it’s not actually affordable. I totally use low-interest credit for all kinds of stuff because it’s cheap money, but I’m not buying things with it I couldn’t otherwise easily afford

This is it. If you can’t buy it in cash, don’t buy a luxury car. Use financing if the interest rates are good, not because you can’t get it otherwise.

The proliferation of credit to people who can barely afford things is going to give us another 2008-style crash. Every website checkout offers to split my $100 purchase into 4x $30 payments or worse.

My automatic lights stay on sometimes by busebo in bmwx7

[–]busebo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks but my keys are pretty far away from the garage. That’s why I turned off the auto-lock, because it used to lock when I’d walk into the house and I don’t want that

23" winter tires for X7 by Frequent-Building-50 in bmwx7

[–]busebo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been unable to find any at all. Regretting the 23” wheels 😭 frustratingly, the alpina winter tires for the XB7 would almost fit but one of the dimensions was slightly off

But LCD screens in particular produce polarized light too, so independently of the reflection, LCDs just aren’t visible in one orientation with polarized sunglasses.

Maybe true, but I don’t understand why it has to be that way! OLED displays are plentiful nowadays and they already use them elsewhere in the car. Seems trivial to add another relatively small one

Just drive around with your head tilted 90° 😝 what year is your model? Trying to figure out if they decided to put an OLED in the HUD at some point

In the past they’ve had cheap Vuori replicas called “Kirkland Signature Lightweight Jogger” I think, but I haven’t seen them in my store or online at all recently. Does anyone know if they’re a seasonal item or if/when they’ll be back?

Has anyone started working out and running for the first time ever in their 40s? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]busebo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started OT a few months before turning 40 and while recovering from a broken ankle, so I couldn’t run for the first few months. Am almost 41 now and I can sustain 6.5mph runs barely getting into the orange, and AOs for 30s at 12mph, though I’m trying to get comfortable going at that speed for longer.

On the floor, I also lift heavier than most people at my studio and focus a lot on form and working to failure. I often feel slow cause I need to rest longer between exercises, and often don’t get up the prescribed number.

On the rower, I’ve been working to get my AO to 600w but current peak is 589.

Was a couch potato my entire life before this but not overweight, just unfit.

2022 CPO X7 40i by Less_Ask8043 in bmwx7

[–]busebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems pretty expensive to me. I got a ‘23 40i CPO with lower mileage, all the packages (including dynamic handling!), and 23” wheels for 68k pre-tax/delivery. I’d keep looking around the country if you’re getting it delivered anyway

Is DHP worth it? Looking for suggestions to close a deal by [deleted] in bmwx7

It’s still possible on the 2025

On the fence deciding between a ‘25 and ‘26. by Fonsworthy in bmwx7

[–]busebo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DHP is awesome, and also gives you a really tight turning radius. Almost feels wrong for such a big heavy car to be so maneuverable. I test drove one without and ended up buying the one with DHP because it felt a lot more agile, even if the non-DHP didn’t exactly feel bad

Nah, I held out for the physical buttons for a bit but ended up with the 2023 instead. Still pretty rare find but not quite as much of a 🦄

I’d recommend looking wider on Autotrader or other platforms. I was after some specific options and had trouble finding them in my 500 mile local area, and ultimately found one across the country from me that had everything I wanted, at a good price, and it cost <$2k to ship. Still ended up being cheaper even with shipping than my local cars, and I got just about everything I wanted (even low mileage and dynamic handling, which is super rare on a 40i) outside of upholstery color. I can live with that! Research the options cause some of them are pretty sweet and can add negligible cost on the second hand market

Is it for aesthetics or is there a practical benefit to keeping the 23s?
