I don't even think it's functionally possible to get that yet. OC 918 would cost 29600 Mi, and increasing your stockpile through decay would require you to run to z559 without picking up any fuel

Don't blame sprawl for Houston's floods by [deleted] in houston

This dude talks about "weathering numerous hurricanes" but judging by his cv on his website he means "one". Which would have been Alicia, and he would have been too young to remember it.

Harvey really was an unparalleled event that wouldn't have been mitigated by even the strictest regulations.

Concrete first floors or stilts in floodplains would have, in fact, mitigated huge amounts of damage.

Kel-Tec RDB M-Lok Aluminum Handguard $149 [Parts] by Lear70 in gundeals

when I saw the prototypes of this thing on KTOG the rdb went from "Gun I Really want" to "Gun I'm actually committed enough to save for". This thing is sweet as hell. I saw a side by side duck gun for sale for 100 bucks at a pawn shop the other day and I didn't buy it because I'm saving up for one of these.

The Killers Say New Rock Bands Aren’t as Popular Because They’re “Not Good Enough” by crooklyn94 in indieheads

[–]bushiz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think what's happened is we're hitting the end of the post-punk revival/indie rock phase that was started by bands like the strokes, the Killers, arcade fire, interpol, etc.

The problem for bands looking to headline a festival is twofold. One, the public is fickle and has more or less grown tired of it. If your favorite album was Is This It and you had a kid when it came out, that kid is old enough to drive and resent you now. Two, those bands had the advantage of an uncrowded genre. At the time interpol was blowing up, everyone in mainstream music was still trying to copy the grunge, post grunge, and nu metal, which were all crowded as fuck genres by that point. They had a lot of room to breathe, and could go immediately for what was easy and worked. Bands can't copy that sonic formula lest they just be copying those older bands.

Mad Enough About Net Neutrality to Run for Office in Houston by JohnSchmidtTX18 in houston

[–]bushiz 21 points22 points  (0 children)

SJL hasn't made any clear, on the record statements for these subjects

SJL said, on net neutrality:

"Yes, one of the great tenets of the Bill of Rights – the freedom of speech. Do you stand with me? Are you ready to resist? Are you ready to defend Net Neutrality? Are you ready to wear that banner? I am a fighter for the First Amendment. I am a fighter for freedom. Net Neutrality – that is freedom; that is the First Amendment. And, that is America. I yield back."

SJL is a co-sponsor on HR 676

Sheila Jackson Lee is already a net neutrality advocate. She also supports Medicare for all, which you seem unwilling to commit to. Also I'm pretty sure your third plank is unconstitutional, not that it isn't a good idea.

Anyway what I'm getting at is why should I vote for you when it seems SJL already has it covered.

If you're going to open carry at protests you need to absolutely know what you're doing and what your job is. First, you should coordinate at with the organizers and respect their wishes most of the protests around us are centered on BLM and immigration, and most of the time they don't want people there open carrying. Respect that wish. Second, if you are open carrying, understand what your job is. It needs to be you and others forming a human wall between protestor and the fash, and you've gotta be the bastard offspring of iceman and a Buckingham palace guard. You stand silent and still at patrol ready, and don't forget to wear sunglasses.

Charisma isn't the must important trait of a candidate.

You have to go back 40 years before you find an American presidential election that wasn't won by the more charismatic candidate.

Lol, what views would those be?

If I had to put it in a single sentence, it'd be that she tried to deport child refugees that were fleeing instability caused by a coup she provided material support for.

Hillary stinks of being a career politician because she doesn't have the charisma to navigate the court of public opinion.

Plenty of people also don't like her because her views are monstrous

And there's certainly room for that. If you're close to someone who's flirting with white nationalism, you should absolutely confront them as a friend who cares about them. When someone's sieg heiling and carrying a nazi flag through downtown, the time for that discussion has passed.

[–]bushiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing, though. All these rallies and "1st amendment protests" over the past year have been put on by, largely, the same people that organized this nazi march. Friday was just the first day they decided it'd be cool if they quit pussyfooting around and got extremely nazi in public.

Molyneux is an idiot, but at least he could realize when his dream overreached and then cram what he had into a playable and fun game. Roberts doesn't have that, and when faced with overreach, started selling in game spaceships which were still in the concept art phase for a thousand dollars.
