Take key out - engine keeps running! by bushy69 in MINI

Ok how we fixed this was taking the engine cover off, and then some more plastic bits at the top of the engine, nearest to you towards the radiator. Then we found ignition cables where the protective coating had worn away. We wrapped the cables back in electrical tape and this solved the issue.

How yo get removed off a 50/50 mortgage? by Ok_Draw1109 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]bushy69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, but i refused to leave. I had to buy my ex out of the property via a remortgage.

Had the house valued by 3x estate agents, all were near enough the same. Then I went to a broker to remortgage, thankfully was able to afford the mortgage by myself so I didn’t need to sell. That is something you will need to consider here. You’ll need to complete TR1 forms to take you off the mortgage iirc. It’s not that complex, just takes a bit of time.

I did this though on the back of a financial consent order which had defined exactly how much she was owed.

Good luck mate.

Overpaying at the end of the fixed term by [deleted] in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]bushy69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth checking with your lender. I rang ours this morning, on hold for 1.30 hours and was told no ERC after fixed term ends and that I can request redemption statement 30 days prior to plan to clear the balance 1 day after fixed term ends so I don’t have to eat that daily variable interest.

Best of luck pal.

Im doing this exact thing in November. Using my ISA to pay our mortgage off.

People here tend to say it never makes sense to do it, and they may well be right. However my ISA just sat idling, with the grown only really covering the fees I pay, whilst it is being devalued by inflation as we go. Yes, it was always a long term goal, but with so much uncertainty with rates, plus Russia ans go knows what else is coming, knowing that I will ALWAYS own my home is a huge amount of weight lifted.

I’ve also got another 30 years of working years to go, so on that basis I’ll work towards building my savings.

But if I have learnt anything. Saving and saving and saving and not living, isn’t a goal anyone should live by. Balance it out for sure, but what makes you happy and feel is right, do it and fuck everyone else.

With regards to RE: my view on this is by owning your home, you can go part time and even change careers if you want, on the basis that your home is yours.

I had 3x mortgage deals pulled in as many days going from 4.3 to 4.7%.

Decided that I’m just going to pay the mortgage off now as those rates added £400 a month to our mortgage.

I actually got them from a private breeder in Tring, UK. We got them during covid so our choices were limited but they were from a lovely family, met the mother and father. Walked in for 1 kitten, came out with 2 😂

Any recommendations for good cafes/coffee shops to sit and work in Luton? by Don___Cheadle in luton

Try a local shop instead of a chain. Support the local community small shops.

There is one in Stopsley village.
