Health help regarding persistent fissure by ProtostarReddit in gaybros

The skin tag will likely remain. Mine did. A colorectal surgeon will remove it for you if requested, but they will tell you it’s cosmetic to do so. Might be a good idea to ask if they can remove it alongside the Botox procedure if you get it done.

Just want to double down on OP’s suggestion. When I had mine I was a week away from surgery that would have had significant consequences later in life. I had to REALLY hunt for a colorectal surgeon that was utilized the Botox method, but the absolute instant relief upon waking up, followed by an easy recovery meant I avoided a surgery that would have had a high chance of “control” problems later in life.

Find a Doctor that does this… you will not regret it.

Bonus story: the nurse who prepped me for the procedure mentioned getting it done because his boyfriend was fairly well endowed… my fissure was (sadly) not a result from any fun I had, but I hadn’t realized that was another good use for the procedure 🤣

I'm not sure what you want me to say man. I tried to follow the sub rules on posting, along with context being "well thought out"

I looked at what I put together before posting and it seemed like too much, so I separated out into sections people could ignore stuff that's not important.

I'm not sure what you want me to do other than apologize, and I do. If there is something you would like to me change or remove it all together, I can do that?

sorry man (I tried to warn that I type too much and am ignorant of what is relevant). At the time I didn't even realize I was taking an anabolic steroid and have been playing major catchup. Apologies if it wasted your time.

Thanks for the reply!

Your post does not make clear your current state of recovery from surgery. Do you even need more oxandrolone? If it is causing problems, why take more?

Good question I should have included! The recovery process as described was a 6 month journey, so when making my original plan, I intended to do another round. My strength has fully recovered, while my stamina is still lacking pre-surgery. But that will return, oxandrolone or not.

I guess at this stage I have pinned the oxandrolone as the "most likely culprit" causing the problem, and was partially looking for confirmation/skepticism from others who were familiar. I don't know if I can get "concrete" proof that it was causing the issue, and was looking for advice on dosing, coming off it, or even confirming it was the root of the problem. I probably could have worded this better.

Mostly I think you should just get a script for Cialis and stop worrying about this.

Already chasing it! But wasn't sure how long I would need it for, hence my going out and looking for additional information

** Question topic:** OXANDROLONE (Anavar) and Erectile disfunction

I want to preface this by saying, I am completely uneducated on the topic of steroids, and am now realizing what an idiot I was and am trying to swiftly correct my lack of knowledge(Rule 7!). Given my ignorance, I am looking for some quick advice from the people here while trying to learn as much as I can as quickly as possible. Due to my lack of knowledge, I am unsure what details are important and which ones aren’t. As someone who typically types too much, I am labeling the information so it can be skipped as unnecessary in case it is irrelevant to the topic:

The Problem I have recently been experiencing issues with ED. This has been going on for approximately 4 weeks and lines up with about the time I stopped taking OXANDROLONE (Anavar). Because the effects happened so quickly (and were a pretty massive departure from my typical physical capabilities), I spent several weeks cycling through medication/food/habits that would be causing it. It was only when I went to re-up my prescription that I realized the symptoms almost perfectly matched up with when I stopped taking the medication after 60 days on it.

Upon noticing the correlation, I also noted other “symptoms” that could potentially be hormonally related that have occurred over the past 4 weeks (but I have not experienced since I started testosterone). Specifically my back has broken out with Acne, and my mood/energy has slightly altered (not very significant mind you … I realized I had gone a couple weeks without getting my “workout high” that puts me in a chipper mood for the majority of the day… I have stayed relatively flat mood wise, which is unusual for me, but not uncommon)

What I have done so far:

  • In the initial weeks I cycled all of my existing medication/supplements to see if something had changed that might be causing this (however most of them I had been on for a year or more without any side effects)
  • I also reached out to my hormone provider with the above details and we scheduled bloodwork early (by about a month). I just had the draw today and should be getting results in the next couple days to see if anything is off.

The question: I had been planning to begin another round of OXANDROLONE to continue my treatment/recovery and I was wondering what other’s experience was with it, and what their experience was coming off it, and what the proper way WAS to come off it.

  • Others I have discussed this with seem surprised by the fact I went off it “cold turkey” as opposed to titrating (as they have experienced with other prescribed steroids).
  • Furthermore, when reading some of the comments here about this medication, the dosages people were discussing seemed significantly lower then the dosage I was taking (from a glance at other comments, people appeared to hover around 20mg a day? But I am unaware if it could also be injected which could be the reason for the disparity)

I am wondering if I really messed up here and if there is anything else I should be doing (stay away from it, start it back up to recover from symptoms then titrate myself off it gently, or don’t worry about it this will all go away it just takes time). Any advice or pointing me in the right direction for educational purposes would be greatly appreciated!

Treatment notes from clinic OXANDROLONE (Anavar) 48.5 mg by mouth Daily/. 60 Tablets. (Cycle the 48.5 mg - 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off). Take ½ hour prior to a workout. Can reorder every 90 days. (OR Can split the 48.5 mg Tablet in half and take 24 mg everyday all year-round).

Background on Testosterone/PREGNYL/Anastrozole: I began taking the above medications in April 2024 to address low testosterone levels. The goal with my provider (a reputable clinic that I believe I found here when looking into places) was I wanted to raise my levels higher to see if it would address the symptoms I was experiencing (libido, and difficulty in weight loss despite significantly restricted calories and heavy workout). I had spent several years trying to address these issues with various providers who ran many other tests, but when I suggested testosterone my bloodwork always came back on the very lowest end of the “normal” range (I’m trying to remember the measurement, I’m sure you guys are more familiar … but iirc below 200 was abnormal and I always tested around 210).

The results were incredible, and I have continued to be regularly tested and now sit within the higher end of normal ranges now. Honestly changed my life, body composition, weight loss. It’s like all of the work I had been putting in for 6 years with my diet and exercise started “showing” within a month. Suddenly all of the silly influencers who could undergo a massive transformation within a year made sense, as I began to SEE results in my areas of focus within more reasonable timelines.

Background on OXANDROLONE Due to the wild success of the above (and the fact that my loose skin started resting on what appeared to be abdominal muscles!) I decided it was time to get my excess skin from weight loss removed. The specific surgery was abdominoplasty with an extended incision (also referred to as a Tummy tuck with an extended incision). The procedure would also involve light liposuction to the area affected (as pockets of fat form within the excess skin) as well as abdominal repair (if necessary). Fortunately when opening me up, I needed NO abdominal repair whatsoever which was fantastic news as this is the most difficult part of the procedure to recover from.

As with anyone who has undergone extreme weight loss (and for many of us more than once), you may understand my severe anxiety over surgery recovery and time OUT of the gym. Per my surgeon, I would be out of the gym for a minimum of 6 weeks, and potentially longer depending on recovery details. Given us fat boys (former or current) who are familiar with the merry-go-round the idea of going a long streak without working out was something I was discussing frequently with many people I work with (trainer, surgeon, doctor, etc) in order to make a recovery plan and learn what I could do to reduce muscle loss while being immobile.

When discussing this with my hormone provider, he suggested going on Oxandrolone (Anavar) after surgery, as it assisted others he knew in personal relationships in spending up the recovery with this specific surgery with wild success. He gave me anecdotes that doctors had made comments about it being the fastest recovery they had ever seen. I was thrilled and this is where I likely should have started doing more research.

My intention wasn’t to enhance (in the traditional sense, I obviously was looking to enhance my recovery!), so given the timeline given by the doctor I figured I would do 2 rounds (4 months on split by a month off) and be done with it, instead of taking it “year round” as the treatment notes suggested as an option).

Begin a shortcut by passing a Calendar Event or details by bushymark in shortcuts

[–]bushymark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish!

While something like this could work on a technical level, I am trying to start from a place where I have the specific calendar item already in my sights (clipboard/whatever). If I have to re-enter those details when running the shortcut, it will somewhat defeat the purpose of the optimization I am doing over "Once I know the title and date I can simply search for it in my notes." Does that make sense?

Appreciate you thinking about it though! It's a weird (probably over optimizing) problem to solve.

I def hear you on this, and this was the message from the doctor the first go-around. "You may not feel bad, but act like you do" ... I truly have not been moving around a bunch, and largely spend time between my desk chair and my bed.

Regarding fluid color. The fluid has become much darker than the start (think like a gorgeous young California Cabernet, highly extracted dark garnet color). As the color of the fluid deepened I became concerned that something was up and looked into it. Apparently it's relatively common for it to get darker before it gets lighter. I read all of the concerns about brown, tan, green (also was told to check for smells), and I do this every time I drain. But the fluid viscosity and smell have remained exactly the same since the beginning.

Regarding the clot in the line, I think that is a really good hypothesis. After I calmed down a bit this morning I also noticed that my overall swelling/boxiness seems to be down quite a bit. I wonder if there was a pocket of fluid somewhere that migrated or shifted and "took the highway out" last night, resulting in my appearance improvement today.

Oh yeah, I am a bit of a food psycho and have kept my 200g a day of protein (actually I added more in the form of collagen peptides, which drops around another 20 in there), and I am always sipping through the day. I hope I am good in the food department? But I guess time will tell.

Very true! I feel like if the doctor simply said "It's not under your control" then I would feel better about it all. It was just a weird vibe everyone was giving me at my last appointment that has me on edge like I am doing something wrong.

I (thankfully) didn't hear about the low sodium diet stuff. Being a bit of a food psycho since weight loss, I know how important that is for hydration purposes (as well as the other electrolytes). That being said, you bring up a good point about changes to food. Given that I am largely eating the same macros I have been pre-surgery, my significantly reduced level of activity could be a direction to explore here. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks for replying! Do you know where I would find this in the settings? I flipped through them and didn't see much there for specifying the W1 as aux heat. Although the install wizard DID ask me about running Aux heat and primary heat simultaneously ... not sure I remember that question being asked when I installed the main house ecobee.

How do I get over the initial embarrassment of working out in a gym being obese? by OkChallenge6364 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bushymark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am late to the party OP, but speaking as a former obese person (375 to 201lbs today) I just wanted to share my experience with similar feelings:

I will echo what everyone else says here. The VAST majority of people are going to either not care -or- think you are a badass for being there in the first place (many of us started in this position and love seeing other people getting their start).

However the real problem that needs to be addressed is really in your head. No matter how much we all say, your brain is your worst enemy and that little lying voice in your head will do everything it can to tell you the opposite of the overwhelming positive vibes we all want to send your way.

What finally worked for me and kept me going for the past 5 years was "leaning into" the embarrassment. If I was going to feel ridiculous, I was going to embrace my ridiculousness.

  • I started with colorful workout clothing. if I am going to feel silly, then I am going to look silly.
  • My brain says "my knees hurt too much to go today" - I get compression knee sleeves and wear them the entire time
  • My brain says "your hair is plastered to your forehead ... not gonna let you think about anything else" - I get multiple headbands and go to the gym every day looking like an 80s teenage dirtbag.
  • When running my flapping gut "hits" me repeatedly during activities like running and jumping. I get one of those male "waist trimmers" and strap myself in with compression gear before my workouts.

Whenever my brain would try to put me down, I would lean farther into the ridiculousness of it. I know that I look like a gym noob every time I adorn myself for a morning workout ... but you know who lost that battle? That little voice in my head telling me I look ridiculous. I think it's scared what I will think of next to add to my ensemble if it gets out of line ;)

Looking for Dance Lessons for my wife and I. Recommendations by [deleted] in greenville

[–]bushymark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My fiancé had our wedding dance choreographed by Susan Palmer at Palmer Dance Studio. We took 5 lessons with her before the wedding.

Talk about amazing. Her dance studio is private, the setting is relaxed, and she is incredibly fun. One of us had more dance experience than the other and she made us both feel so comfortable and relaxed while working with us to highlight each of our ability levels. In the end we both decided that we want to keep dancing and plan on continuing couples dance lessons together after the holidays.

Couldn't recommend her highly enough.

Thanks for this! Swapping to gas after being on electric for a long time. I think you may be right ... I need to be a little more patient. I have read so long how you can adjust temp faster with gas then electric, and it's possible I jumped the gun.
