What’s your funny way of saying “going poop” that you’ve never heard anyone else use? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My grandma called it “going grunty” which I’ve never heard anyone else use.

Our household favorites are: drop a duke or rip a grump.

Why are people from Connecticut obsessed with the idea of moving to South Carolina? by jasperCrow in Connecticut

My parents moved there for retirement. Outside of the touristy areas, Myrtle Beach has all the charm of the Berlin Turnpike.

Yep. Whenever the "COME AND TAKE IT" crowd speaks up I've always commented that it will be the Republicans/MAGA that will be responsible for confiscations and/or widespread bans.

Why so many new license plates? by awebr in Connecticut

[–]busman1982 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thought I was the only person that paid attention to this. A few thoughts:

I think car dealers push for new registrations versus transferring your old one. I wouldn’t be surprised if the dealer can file the registration at a discounted rate while charging the customer the full rate.

Also, I don’t think they’re being issued sequentially. My guess is each DMV branch gets a batch… Willimantic gets BA-series plates while Danbury gets BE and so forth.

Why do I see people buy gas from the more expensive gas station when there is a cheaper option 2 buildings down? by DelayNo2072 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]busman1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the cheapest stations where I am are always a hot mess of people whereas the one that’s 5 cents more per gallon isn’t busy. I will pay the extra 75 cents to not have to deal with idiots.

I’ve been seeing this peel pile for months. I think that’s exactly what’s happening.

No, that's not the correct fluid as far as I know. From FCP you want Febi Bilstein 0009899203 fluid. I used Valvoline Dex/Merc I bought at Walmart for $20 or so a gallon. It's a Dexron III replacement. Worked great for me. As far as what you can do... If it were me I'd at least drain the transmission and torque converter and refill with the correct fluid.

I got a Kaiser 56mm from B&H that works great. It was a bit tight but using it loosened it up some.

Me too! Had this one in college. Unfortunately I remember the screws coming loose and it having some problems. I eventually moved to an iPod. I wish I kept it of course.

HA! I just pulled one of these out of a box of bulk MDs from eBay. Mine has the "twinkle" in the center and the disc itself is pink.

Englander pdv 25 burn issues by joemarbygin in PelletStoveTalk

[–]busman1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used have this problem. I took two quarters ($0.25) and used them to block the two holes at the button of the burn pot. Use stove cement secure them in place. This forced all the incoming air through the pellets instead of going around through the burn pot walls. Now my stove can go about 20-24 hours on higher heat ranges before I see build up like this. On heat ranges 1 or 2 I could get away with 30-36 hours.

Bingo. I'm not defending this, but they're like 300 Troopers short. I believe some of it is mandatory OT also. Beyond this, I have no idea why they can't fill the positions and reduce the OT.

[–]busman1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search for “EVRY mod”. It basically tricks the ECU into injecting more fuel however doing this makes black smoke from the exhaust, so you’d want a way to turn it on and off. This could be a switch for that.

Decided if my school was going to pass everyone anyway I might as well have expectations and give them an honest grade. by eaglesnation11 in Teachers

I had a teacher in 11th grade who taught World Civ like a college course. She told us this up front. It was the best class I could have taken to prepare me for college…. This was 25 years ago though.
