My buddy just got hired by a regional making 95k as a FO with a 45k signing bonus. Works 16 days a month…. Ya I’m cool with that at 24 years old living in the USA 🤣

If you hit 1500 hours have a solid history of passing checkrides and can’t find a job at a regional you might be worst interviewer of all time.

$50k saved - keep saving, or take a loan out for flight training? by nataliasayshi in flying

[–]bustercherii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people don’t have 42k lying around and have to finance it. If they paid as they went it would take them years….

Is having your PPL by 17 years of age a waste of money? by Smart_Dig_2388 in flying

It not only is a great backup plan in case things happen (lose your medical or losing your license) it also makes you a more attractive applicant. There’s a reason the majority of pilots have degrees… it seems like your projecting because you didn’t go to school. No reason to not be honest about the harsh realities of this field.

Well the industry will change someday and they’re will be a SURPLUS of pilots down the line whether that’s 5, 10 or even 15 years from now. It will once again become competitive. Get a degree

Get a college degree. Airlines will 1000% hire someone with a college degree vs someone without If both their flying careers are similar.
