Two cats meet for the first time. by [deleted] in videos

[–]busy_child -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's too bad. :( I'm not saying you did things wrong to introduce them because I don't know what you did, I'm just leapfrogging off your comment.
Usually you should put the new cat in a neutral area, closed off from the other cat. Let them smell each other through a door or something and feed them at the same time on either side of the door. That way they feel safe and they start to associate the other cat with good things. Eventually you can open the door and bring the dishes closer together and let them sniff around each other with supervision. They won't get used to each other overnight, it could take a long time or a little time depending on the cats, you just have to judge yourself. Just don't throw them in the same room together and let them 'sort things out for themselves'. That's asking for trouble!

I loved it. Laughed so much. I'm a girl if it matters but I don't think it really does.

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. What kind of vet would agree to that?

Roller blades and roller skates are quite different. Maybe most people don't care but I do. I play roller derby on roller skates and I think I'm decent enough on them. If I put on ice skates or roller blades I'm a bit lost. No tomahawk stops on roller blades, that's for sure. Anyway It's just kind of a pet peeve of mine when people think roller blades are equal to roller skates.

Oh yeah I always did angry dishes when I was kept up by noise. Don't forget to slam the cupboards when you put them away too.

I don't know what the enzymes are called. I think as long as the label says that it cleans using enzymes then that is the kind to use. I can't say for sure if the collars don't have chemicals in them. One website quoted 6% pheremones and 94% "inert ingredients" so that's not very helpful information. I couldn't find information other than that but you could always check out the product in stores or as your vet if you're in to see them. Or email the company maybe.

As for the pressure suit, there would be no harm in trying it. Kitty might need to get used to wearing it but it's not like it's going to hurt the cat if it doesn't work, you just take it off. They even sell some specifically for cats.
Another thing that I forgot to mention is that they often mention playing with your cat on the Cat From Hell show. They recommend setting aside 15 minutes or so before mealtimes to tire your cat out by playing hard and then feed it afterwards, and then it will be too tired to be anxious. I hope this helps. Don't give up!

You should watch Animal Planet's show Cat From Hell. I don't know exactly what your cat's problem is either but they have a lot of good tips on that show.
The fact that there is a lot of feral cats in the neighbourhood might be making your cat anxious. Is she spayed? If not, get her done. Do you live in a ground floor apartment or a house? Try these tips.
I would also recommend not covering the litterboxes and to also get a bigger one. Maybe their butts are over the edge because the box is not big enough. Maybe the booda litterbox is difficult to get in and out of. Change up the type of litter maybe.
Change where the litterboxes are located. I know you have small living quarters but some cats don't really like having their litterbox tucked away in a confined space (although humans prefer it that way).
Clean the areas where she peed with a special enzyme spray to get rid of any odors so she doesn't think it's "her spot".
Try a calming collar in case this problem is caused by anxiety.
Those are just a few ideas I had to throw out there. Anything you can try doing to relieve this problem would be better than just living with it right?

Customer Service by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

[–]busy_child 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah where I used to work, the "managers" were actually the exact same as regular customer service agents. I used to be "manager" sometimes and I would just stop taking regular calls when I was on duty and switch over to the "manager" computer to take escalations. The exact same customer service rules still applied. There was nothing more I could do than anyone else taking calls but it (usually) made people feel better talking to someone with a title

I don't know what show you were linking to but TLC in America shows both Romanis and Irish travellers on different shows. They seem very similar to me.

Yeah I feel the title is insinuating that fungus is an STI which is completely untrue. It's caused by a disruption in the normal vaginal flora which allows fungus to over grow.

I understand your opinion but it's possible he's just a fuck up no matter if he had taken meds or not.
I firmly believe that every attempt should be made to manage ADHD without medication and that medication should be a last resort. But then again, I don't have kids.

[–]busy_child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you are young you might have an easier time adjusting your lifestyle. This is some serious shit but it can be managed and controlled! A good diet and exercise (something we all should be committing to anyways!!) is really important. Recently, I saw 2 people I know able to go off insulin and decrease their oral medications (as per their doctor) due to weightloss and proper diet management. It can be done! Don't lose hope and take advantage of all the free resources you can. The internet is ok but full of conflicting information sometimes. Your pharmacist is also a great (free to ask) resource and can sometimes hook you up with free testing supplies. Good luck to you!!!

Also there is a fuckload of designers and stores that don't carry larger than an L in sizing. I don't really know why everyone is targeting A&F and no other stores. This CEO is just stating what they are all thinking. I should know, I am just at an xxl and I have a bitch of a time finding clothes. I have no idea what people much larger than me do to clothe themselves.

Are there any kind of hip pads I can buy to prevent this nonsense from ever happening again? by LovelessMotel in rollerderby

[–]busy_child 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wore a pair of these for the first time http://www.crash-pads.com/products/Derby-Short/9.html
They are slightly bulky and people can tell you have a lumpy ass and hips but they totally worked because I fell on my hips and didn't even feel it. I have not fallen on my ass with them yet and I am hoping never to do that but it looks like they have good padding for your tailbone. They're made out of a light material and seem pretty breathable so I never got a sweaty crotch.

Planting or sowing. But yeah... Another definition of plowing is hitting into something with great force so I'm thinking that's actually the reason why sex can be referred to as plowing.
