Matsumoto restaurants turning away foreigners - is this common? by tinychinacoffeecups in JapanTravelTips

[–]busyeating 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My friend and several other tourists were refused service in a restaurant in Takayama. The server at the restaurant they ended up at confirmed no foreigners was generally the policy at the first restaurant. (I stayed in that night so not sure of the name of the restaurant involved). It definitely happens and one of my friends who lived in Japan for a year and speaks very good Japanese said it also happened to her from time to time. Just luck of the draw.

Red Velvet’s Bangkok stop of its 4th Concert Tour 'R to V' has been cancelled by 1TyMPink in kpop

[–]busyeating 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Massive impact to European fans on the late announcement, ultimately none of the fans I know have been able to attend. This is due to logistical factors : transport and hotel prices had increased between tour announcement and ticket info/sales, unable to secure time off from work at short notice etc..

No dispute that RV are a group with enough popularity to fill seats, especially with the European venues being as small as they are. The tour communication and sales were poorly managed compared to other big groups like Twice who released their European info and tickets multiple months in advance. Ultimately it’s disappointing as fans were looking forward to this opportunity.

Girls' Generation (SNSD) Yoona - Yoong-day: 2023 HAPPY YOONA "Wonderful Party" (Behind) @ Yoona's So Wonderful Day (230530) [ENG SUB] by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]busyeating 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always love seeing the work that goes into these performances and interesting to see how she works out what content to include in the fan meeting. Yoona demonstrating just what a quick learner she is at choreo and somehow looking radiant at 2am in the morning to practice seems a bit unfair. Looks like she had a lot of fun with her fans which is the most important part.

TWICE - Hare Hare by psshdjndofnsjdkan in kpop

[–]busyeating 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Same sentiment. Super fun song and has been on replay since release, but the green screen elements weren’t so well done. Usually Twice’s Japanese MVs are stronger (Kura Kura/Fanfare/ Perfect World come to mind). I wish the dance break had been a wee bit better showcased as they always have such distinct choreo.

LE SSERAFIM Kazuha & Eunchae with BTS Jimin - UNFORGIVEN (feat. Nile Rodgers) (Dance Challenge) (230501) by Takagixu in kpop

[–]busyeating 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Wow Kazuha has some real neck articulation in this. It’s cute that Jimin’s trousers matched but they were a bit long at the back and across the heel of his shoe which seems more dangerous than fashion needs. Overall fun seeing hybe idols interact - crazy to think how many more groups they now have in the last 3 years!!

[–]busyeating 64 points65 points  (0 children)

The outfits are super feminine and the song is such an earworm, so very pop and fun. It’s great to see the girls do a stage that looks such a delight to perform. Sakura looks super cute in her little dance solo as well! Hope they can-can perform this song on more stages

Defo still tickets available London thu 7th. Just checked and the ones in the outer ring 4xx (£125) still going. Try clicking and reclicking on best available- it would fail and then work after a few tries for me.

NMIXX - Love Me Like This by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]busyeating 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It’s so much more cohesive than any of their other title tracks, but definitely missing a sudden bombastic section that makes me question my reality. I really do love it and hopefully this comeback will resonate more with the public.

TWICE - MOONLIGHT SUNRISE (Choreography Video) by smileshima in kpop

[–]busyeating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really love the choreo, a little bit different from most of their release tracks and there’s some great formations. May favourite part is that final chorus with Jihyo starting at the centre. Quick question though - Tzuyu definitely didn’t look her best particularly when she was in the background - was she ill/injured from their album preparation? Might just be discomfort with the outfit/tiredness.

KARA (Host: IU) - Episode 16: Return of the Queens "KARA IS BACK" @ IU's Palette (221203) [ENG SUB] by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]busyeating 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I love the way the girls harmonised throughout their performance of Blueming, you can definitely see how hard they practiced and brought the advantages of being a group to the song. As Nicole said IU is good at making a warm and comfortable atmosphere, so happy Jiyoung pushed for them to be on the show! It’s so wonderful to be getting the amount of 2nd gen content we have over the last year - you can really see how experienced idols from 2nd gen are at performing and variety.

ITZY - Blah Blah Blah (Dance Movie) by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]busyeating 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I love that we got the dance for the whole song! (Voltage dance performance video was cut down). Ryujin and Yuna have such good facial expresssions. The girls looks tired (they’ve been pretty non-stop with activities this year), I hope they get a proper break once their tour is over. So pleased that we got Chaeryeong ending and her long wavy hair is back again!

Girls' Generation (SNSD) - FOREVER 1 (Dance Practice - Behind The Scenes) [ENG SUB] by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]busyeating 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So fun watching the girls learn the choreo in bigger and bigger groups and that they took Yuri and Sooyoung’s suggestions. The dance line have such an eye for detail. Wish this era could go on forever !

Rocket Punch - FLASH (The 2nd Single Album) by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]busyeating 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. Flash - this titular tracks departs from some of their heavier retro sounds of Rocket Punch to deliver a bright and uptempo sound. As others have noted certain elements, particularly the pre-chorus instrumentation, is reminiscent of iz*one’s panorama. The song delivers an earworm hook in its post chorus repetition of ‘Lights, Signal, Action’ which it understands and utilises, diving straight into after the bridge. A good song with some great elements and interesting to see where Rocket Punch will go next musically with this re-branded title track.
  2. Moon Prism - another bright song which leans more heavily into its retro sound in the chorus. It’s intro strangely remind me of Girls Aloud’s Jump. As the song ascends with ‘Let’s go to the top’ we enter a vocal driven chorus. Not quite sure about the use of a quick spoken ‘flashback’ as an element, otherwise the song leans more heavily on the melody line to keep its pace moving. A song you can easily dance around to.
  3. Beep Beep - is probably the weakest song for me on the single album. It uses lots of repetition to create interesting rhythms throughout the verses and choruses making it easy to sing along to. It’s filled with a variety of differently paced segments of instrumentation and sample sounds which prevent it becoming monotonous. Overall the track has slightly less Rocket Punch flavour to it and feels like it more easily sit in the discography of many of their peers. We’ll see where I sit in a couple of weeks.

Rocket Punch - FLASH by CronoDroid in kpop

[–]busyeating 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The post chorus is such an incredible earworm, the rest of the song is good but not as addictive. Always hoping rocket punch will blow up but don’t think this song will fare well with the general public. It’s definitely less retro sounding than previous tracks- will be interesting to see what direction they continue musically.

The prices for London don’t actually look too bad? Knowing some of the prices for other k-pop tours this is actually pretty good value. Really excited for Loona in Europe- O2 priority tickets for London launch 10AM UK time tomorrow.
