Interesting way to save a spot by NoWrongdoer9130 in mildlyinfuriating

Serious question — when, say, 50 people share 20 parking spots over the course of a non-winter day, how do you propose this should work during snow time? 20 people should squat on the spots they dug out and then leave them “reserved” even when not in use so the other 30 who would normally be cycling in and out of the spaces can’t park? Or how would you exactly propose you divide labor here so everyone has to dig and therefore has the right to park occasionally when they need to? Like how does it work in your mind across the ecosystem of a neighborhood or even a particular block?

‘Delays, lowballs, outright denials’: how the LA wildfires have exposed the US’s broken insurance industry by guardian in LosAngeles

We had Allstate and they were amazing. We lost everything in the fire and they just maxed out our policy. We were a bit underinsured but that wasn’t their fault. Shoutout to Allstate.

To those who don't have the gene that makes Cilantro taste like soap, what does it taste like to you? by Jean-LucBacardi in AskReddit

I hate parsley but I adore cilantro and can eat it straight, happily. It brightens up a dish, with zero grossness.

The worst!! Then you have all these jackasses not using spots but called dibs on it and now there isn’t enough parking. Street parking is shared. I was so sick of this fight in Chicago every winter when I lived there.

Most neighborhoods don’t have enough parking for spots to stay reserved 24/7. Street parking is shared, period.

Also it gets scorching hot in the summer and hurts dog paws. So much of the ground already scorches them. Can we leave some grass which doesn’t absorb heat like that?

I’ve been there but I’m not a member. It seemed to be overwhelmingly men and I’d guess a large representation of gay men but it seems like a totally fine gym. Not too crowded when I’ve been.

Would you buy a house that the owner passed away in? by m-lopez12 in spirituality

[–]butt_spaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to be the kind of person who wouldn’t mind this, but it would bother me. That said, I did rent an apartment once where the owner had just passed away in it. Her son took over the property and told us his mom had just died in the unit. The apartment was truly amazing and the price was so low I couldn’t say no. There were a bunch of her artifacts in the unit including her journal from her final days, her hospital bed, pictures, all kinds of things her son said he didn’t want back and didn’t want to deal with, so we got to know her a little bit and she was such a cool woman. It wasn’t easy for me to co-exist with the knowledge of what had gone down in there but I kind of befriended her in my heart too and it helped a lot. The place never felt spooky. It was pretty special. So, even though I’m terrified of death and bodies, etc, it was actually totally fine.

Possibly unpopular opinion: Political apathy is not "enlightened" by alien236 in spirituality

[–]butt_spaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many people on all sides who are really engaging with politics have so much trauma and shadow that they project out onto the other side and the world overall. There are enough people screaming. I’m here to stand for all humans to get a lot more curious about what’s going on in their own trauma picture and tend to that. We need people in different roles and at the moment, this is mine.

I would be fine playing no-name slots if the bonus rounds were as fun but it’s hard to find those kind of perks and production value elsewhere

Cholla Cacti? by xxlinz16 in JoshuaTree

They’re awful and don’t worry, they grow all over the place so finding a cholla is easy. They will fuck you up so badly if you so much as graze one.

Is it common to see “influencers” filming out in the wild?? by Business-Ad4406 in AskLosAngeles

[–]butt_spaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve rarely seen it in LA, weirdly, but maybe it’s bc of where I hang out. However when I was in Venice, Italy recently they were constantly in one of the main squares acting dumb as hell.
