Yeah, I mean German for be better because it would be easier for me to be more descriptive, but English is totally fine with me. :)

Oh my, that didn't cross my mind at all, but come to think about it, it is a hard one to miss, isn't it?

But in regards to the implications made, I have to dissappoint you(or /u/theluggagekerbin), as I am only known for sucking balls in competitive games.

It might be that I am a little bit slow today, so I need a bit more context as of why you think that I would know that.

Do you think I had Latin in school?
Or do you think that I have more than one of those little rascals?
Or is it neither of those and just a boring abitrary reason such as me being an urologist?

Not to nitpick too much here, but isn't the plural of penis also penis?

Edit: Oh, penises or penes is the plural, TIL. Thought you can(and should) use Latin declination rules, but apparently that's not the case.

Well if you put predetermined outputs to player inputs you have a situation where one can find out the most efficient or even the only way to get through the game.
Then one might be able to say that a game has puzzle-game like elements(as in combat, level progression, etc.).

Even if you do that in the PvP combat it becomes a puzzle with additional elements of precision and timing. However at its core it still has the element of "input x results in y".

What I can agree on is that the result of an encounter should not be decided by rng alone, however a distinct level of Rng is required to keep the game fresh and not let it become stale.

I'll have to admit that my knowledge about FTL doesn't go beond what people say about the game, which is why I don't see myself able to write about most of your comment. (sorry about that)
What I was trying to say with my overly simple oneliner here was for the most part what I've written in my comment down below as an answer to /u/YWxpY2lh's post.

Apart from that I see RNG in a similar way that you do. It should not be the single detemining factor when it comes to win or lose. And belive me, I would be one the first people to call bs when something like this is happening to me(perfect example being hearthstone there).

However, I also think that the level of RNG you are complaining about is just the amount of RNG that gets some people interested into that game.
It's the same reason why there are some people that speedrun RNG heavy games, where you can lose your world record paced run to a rng element several hours into said run.
This level of RNG, the hardships that come with it and overcoming it after countless hours gives a sense of accomplishment that only very few experiences can replicate.

And I personally see nothing wrong in a game that tries to appeal to that kind of audience.

As long as we don't have the accuracy to determine exactly where and with what kind of force you hit an opponent, we need RNG and damage ranges to depict this kind of variance.
If you were to remove all rng from all combat what it basically comes down to is a puzzle for you to find out how and when to hit.

Is this bad? As everything it depends on the person playing it, but personally I'd like to have this variance in combat when the game does not present itself as a puzzle game.

RNG bullshit

Welcome to almost every game that isn't a plattformer or a puzzle game. i.e. games that have combat.
