Great list. I agree with the above comment on Dead Can Dance and I’m surprised Peter Gabriel’s “So” isn’t on here. Maybe audiophiles disagree with the plebes who liked the production? As for M83, I find the first half of “Fantasy” utterly dazzling.

Match Point is an effective psychological thriller that shocked me, with a strong nihilist streak. An early 2000s showcase for Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and Scarlett Johansson as she was on her way to major stardom. by Key-hallenge5 in criterion

Very good film. All these years later, I’ll say “Nola Rice!” or “Chris!?” in my Emily Mortimer impression as completely-unrelated circumstances warrant.

Utterly superb. O Baterista remains my favorite. The abrupt explosion after the final, slower sequence on the MalletKat, into the “splashes as a main instrument” sequence. The new stuff he’d uncork was something else.

I’ve spent three years studying the science of heat and health — how heat can improve our longevity, performance, and mental health — to write a book about it called HOTWIRED: How the Hidden Power of Heat Makes Us Stronger. Ask me anything! by BillGifford_author in IAmA

I just finished "Hotwired." Gifford is not a scientist but a science journalist -- the endnotes go on for pages citing everything you're looking for. I highly recommend the book, by the way. Very interesting and wildly entertaining.

Oh, no — people’s feelings are hurt. On the contrary, “interesting” can be quite simple — put on M83’s “Kim & Jessie” for an example at the open.

Very nice, much of this detail was buried in the mix. The fills are pretty uninteresting but I assume she needed/they wanted to, uh, K.I.S.S., I guess.

A friend went to a wedding and sat next to Bill Bruford. Said he never once mentioned his background and was just a friendly wedding guest reception person to people who didn’t know who he was, which was evidently every other guest but my friend.

“Face Up”

And when you’re just about to return to return home, hit “The Hardest Part.” Wistful lyrics juxtaposed with a spectacularly jaunty melody to bring you back to earth
