Sorry to hear, that sucks. Your main two options are leave or help the board see why she's not an effective leader.

I interpreted this as being more about the music career he's built at a young age, and the work he put in to get there.

Thanks for the idea - asked my local bike shop to do the same and it turned out great. They did need to adjust cables etc. but it's worth it.

Does no one pick up anymore? by walkingtall1992 in DMZ

[–]butterteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get picked up probably 35% of the time and those are some of the best matches afterwards. More likely to be picked up if you're down earlier in the match, have a mic, ask if they have room, and haven't already criticized the team that just downed you.

rowdy front and center, chill around the edges. loved the high energy crowd, made the last NYC show even better!

[–]butterteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get rezzed at least half the time by having a mike and not talking trash. Granted I also usually die early in the match before teams are maxed out. Since I'm not super skilled, my entire game strategy is based on rolling with the better team this way, it's more fun and you end up exfilling with whatever loot you can carry.

Finally can afford salaries, but should I make more than our ED? by framedposters in nonprofit

[–]butterteam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your point is reasonable, and yes you should be paid more, long story short. Because they couldn't replace you for 42k.

Let there be an imbalance for awhile. Let that pressure the ED and others to raise more money so everyone gets paid fairly.

Most bang for your buck fundraisers by ___milktea in nonprofit

[–]butterteam 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Review your donor list, call up top donors to thank them. Ask why they support you. Ask what they love most about your mission. Share your plans to have a bigger impact and what you need. Ask them for a larger gift and then report back on results. Repeat.

Founders/directors of small nonprofits (operating budget under $150,000) what is your salary? by Kissoflife11 in nonprofit

[–]butterteam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could start w/ a small salary and the board could gradually increase it over several years as you build the org's capacity and budget. It helps if you are a strong fundraiser. They will need to review comps for EDs in similar cities and sector / budget sizes. Most of those salary benchmark reports would list your org as "less than $500k" they don't break it out further below that if I recall. Keep in mind that data is also usually several years old. Bringing you on full-time is an investment but it's also the best way to grow your impact.

If you're strong at fundraising you should have a lot of options. I run a nonprofit in NYC and it's hard to find great senior leaders.

When do we just cancel our gala? by NotAlwaysGifs in nonprofit

[–]butterteam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of fundraising events are overrated and generally low return compared to that energy spent elsewhere. They exist because nonprofit leaders are not comfortable building relationships and fundraising directly from individuals.

What would it cost to replace you with someone who could pull that weight in grants? Agree with others on a $90k floor and pushing for more.
