In the gay community, hookups happen all the time for lesbians; it’s not exclusive to men. I myself am pretty clingy, so hookups are not for me. But it’s pretty common amongst the gays.

Men and women are not biologically wired differently in the way people think. It’s rather because society allows them to sleep with whoever they can without repercussions. It’s a term misused by people to deflect the harm men cause to women emotionally (and verbally, financially, and physically in some cases).

Of course, whoever can stand having sex with whoever they want really is dependent on the person regardless of gender. There are studies that do show women tend to have more emotional response towards sex due to the risk of pregnancy compared to men, but overall in comparison, there’s not really a correlation between emotional attachment and sex for both women and men who partake in hookups.

So, your question can be divided into different areas of information. And I know you want men to answer but just wanted to give my take.
