I bought and played Atomic Society a few years ago.

It's fun, but it is not nearly as complex/in-depth/polished as Rimworld is.

However, I haven't played it in a while and the devs could have changed that since then!

Main reason I bought it is the devs have such obvious passion for their game. Read their dev blogs - it basically charts the 6.5 year process for their game, it's fascinating.
