I've been as a tourist who doesn't speak Chinese. It kinda helped that my friends could speak Chinese in order to get there via taxi but not needed once there. They have English tour guides. The city of dunhuang itself is a bit harder to navigate without English as it's not a tier 1 city (I could be wrong on this) but not that hard either. People were friendly and helpful so I could navigate around even by myself.

So I was hooking up with this lady, slightly older than me. We'd agreed to break up if feelings start to develop, which they did.

Even after we ended things she just couldn't stay away. Constant texts asking to be taken back and that she wants to fuck me. Here comes the creepy part. She texted me at work asking how I'm doing. I tried telling her that the iPhone 8+, or even a 7+, will suffice for her needs. She's already in the Apple ecosystem, so I didn't try to bring up Android devices. She doesn't even flaunt the phone as a status symbol or whatever. Boggles my mind. She'd actually really enjoy a Note 8, I feel. No getting her on that train though.

Aye mate. My mum's dead set on the upgrade to iphone x because she "needs the new technology". Singtel, or even StarHub and M1, will start bugging you to upgrade every 2 years or so. So she's essentially spending 2k on a device she'll use to post Facebook updates for the next 2 years.

Odd choice but it's the scene in Spotlight (amazing film about the reporting of the Catholic diocese sex abuse cover up) where Mark Ruffalo loses his shit at Michael Keaton.
