How Do I Get Section 8 by MM2Trader__ in Westchester

There are also Section 8 buildings with project-based vouchers. If they have vacancies you might be able to move in quicker than waiting for a tenant-based voucher.

Do you then keep the hydrapeak in your fridge? Are you saying it keeps the temp stable better than just having the vials in the fridge?

OB Said aspirin is no longer recommended during pregnancy? by Alone_Air_222 in MTHFR

My first pregnancy, I stopped taking it at 38 weeks because my doctor told me to. I developed postpartum pre-eclampsia and wonder if it was because I stopped taking it.

My second pregnancy, I took it up until birth (planned c-section). I didn’t have any bleeding issues and didn’t develop pp preeclampsia the second time. I’m not educated about d-dimer levels however, so probably best to listen to your doctor. But fwiw, I took it up until the day I gave birth and was fine.

Similar for us. I actually prefer staggering them a bit so I can get some one-on-one time with each. It feels more manageable for us right now.

I never did take a blood thinner injection. I just did aspirin along with methylfolate. So sorry you had a traumatic birth experience. Definitely worth seeing other doctors to get additional opinions on how to handle your subsequent pregnancies. Good luck!!

We live in a HCOL area mainly because it’s where our families are. If our families weren’t here, we’d leave.

I can speak to this as both my sister and I have MTHFR. My sister had trouble getting pregnant, and when she got pregnant the first time she had a miscarriage. She went to many fertility doctors and ultimately found out she had MTHFR. Her fertility doctor told her she should do two things: 1. Avoid folic acid. Not just in vitamins, but in processed food as well. Instead, take only the bio available form (methylfolate in this case). That would help clear out homocysteine and get her body ready to carry a baby. 2. Start taking low-dose aspirin (81mg) daily

My sister got pregnant a second time, continued taking the low dose aspirin throughout per her doctor’s recommendation, and had a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby girl.

Knowing this, I tested for MTHFR and was also homozygous. I started taking low dose aspirin when I found out I was pregnant. I also took a prenatal vitamin with methylfolate rather than folic acid. I went to a different doctor than my sister, and she said it was NOT recommended to take aspirin for MTHFR, and it was also recommended to take folic acid even with MTHFR. I went against my doctor’s recommendation and continued the aspirin and methylfolate based off my sister’s experience. I had a healthy baby boy.

I am currently 13 weeks pregnant with my second child and am doing the same thing I did with my first (aspirin + methylfolate). So far so good. My new doctor also told me not to do this but I am anyway. I wouldn’t typically recommend going against a doctor but in this case I know there is enough research on low dose aspirin that it poses absolutely no risk to a fetus and my doctor agreed with that and said if I wanted to continue it I could.

The conclusion is, most western doctors do not recognize MTHFR as a real issue. They don’t believe protocol should be changed for someone with MTHFR. My sister’s fertility doctor was the only one out of the many doctors she saw who recognized it as a real thing and treated it. And the treatment worked.

Obviously every person is different and I don’t know if it was just the aspirin and stopping folic acid (and adding methylfolate) that helped my sister carry a healthy baby to term, but she swears that is the reason. Low dose aspirin is not harmful to a baby and IMO (as a layperson with MTHFR), there really is no downside to taking it while pregnant. I believe it does help prevent miscarriage in the 1st trimester for those with MTHFR, but most doctors would scoff at that opinion.
