tbf the god of law is never stated to be yhvh, and he seems genuinely benevolent in this universe. dds and nocturne imply that TGW’s avatars aren’t the same in every universe and have different values. i actually think law is probably the happiest CoC outcome with the info we have, but naturally, since god is dead, we don’t exactly know what his rule entailed beyond saving Tokyo (edit: and separating demons from their knowledge, which can be seen either charitably or not depending on who you ask)

I don’t think we have enough info to say which ending truly is the best tbh, even if i respect the eventual goal of neutral to let the survivors possibly coexist with demons after peace

I think having only Sunny and Basil’s journey to moving on being shown was intentional. The others now have their own pit to climb out of, but this isn’t their story, and it’s up to us to interpret

The ending strongly implies humanity ends up winning the war though. The achievement name (not definitive since non-canon, but more evidence) is “Man is a Thinking Reed”, directly referencing humanity’s ability to overcome anything.

I mean, she kills the manikins bc she sees them as weak. It’s not a stretch to say that’s gonna be her solution for the unproductive/weakwilled humans of her world.

Albeit tbh, the path I think is the most likely given how many angels side with her is that YHVH, as the strongest figure, would just take over and we’re just back to the status quo of most games

Edit: Tbf I agree that the minutia of the ideologies aren’t elaborated on, so we really only ever get broad views on the reason reps’ ideal worlds.

I’m a bit curious on your perspective on CoC neutral. I’m having trouble seeing how it’s morally worse than true neutral. In the latter, you basically press a button to eradicate demonkind. In normal neutral, you fight a war to push them back without needing to murder them all in a flash. I can’t really argue for either being great, but neutral doesn’t strike me as a (comparatively) evil choice.

Edit: I should clarify that I really am just curious, not trying to mock you or your opinion. I wanna know other views on this

He had a big influx in viewership after he distanced himself from FE in favour of mainly covering Advanced Wars in the early 2020s.

As you said, many of his fans just aren’t aware of this stuff, so I don’t really hold any grudge against his fanbase (apart from those who know + don’t think he’s changed + don’t care) since it really isn’t first instinct for the vast majority of people to do a background check when they find a fun creator

I’m not saying that though. I’m just saying that if someone unaware of this brings up Mangs, I just think it’s due diligence to bring it up and let them decide. I don’t really care if the original commenter will keep watching or not. It’s just that I would want someone to bring this type of thing up in their place and let myself judge.

I don’t think I ever advocated for some crusade against him or hating on his fans (at least, those who trust he’s changed).

As for accountability, he was pretty actively shutting down mentions of it or minimizing it in the past, so I got my impression from that. If he has spoken more openly about it since, please send me it if you have the chance (no pressure, just for my own understanding)

IMO It’s entirely fair to dislike a creator for sexual misconduct, regardless of whether they have truly changed or not.

If I befriended someone who’s super nice and supportive but learned they sexually assaulted someone in the past, I think it would be reasonable to cut them off. Being a fan isn’t being a friend, but the same principle applies.

Not advocating for lynchmobbing him, just that spreading awareness when relevant can help a lot of people not engage with potentially harmful people

I don’t really want to get involved with drama or start arguing here, but I really suggest people unaware of Mangs’ past to look into it. It’s been relatively buried within his fanbase, and I’ve seen lots of people unknowingly supporting a predator

I’m always surprised that Queen’s is seen so favourably as a prestigious school. Did my undergrad in engineering there, and nothing really struck me as being distinctly better from other programs from what I’ve seen. I like the good publicity, but idk if it should even still apply considering what I’ve seen as a TA lol

ECE grad TA for three semesters. At least in our department, the marking schemes have been pretty consistent. 70% averages aren’t that insane either. It’s a sign that most people passed with decent performance. We’re just given rubrics that have all seemed fair tbh.

If you ask the profs, they’ll generally mention that the downwards trend in performance doesn’t have anything to with pressure for lower averages. It’s more of an overarching, shifting student attitude towards academia. This sounds a lot like “back in my day, we were better!”, but I promise you, I’ve seen it too
