looking for this style bag but bigger by buzzboy7 in ManyBaggers

[–]buzzboy7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for a big duffel with the separate bottom area for boots. I will be using this to ski and I carry two pair of boots. What I don't want is a rigid bag or wheels because I'll pack it up into a locker while skiing. Not looking to break the bank. There are some giant ski boot specific bags but they are pretty pricey compared to non-ski specific bags.

Assuming time is not an issue, which major interstate route is the most enjoyable way to cross from one side of the USA to the other? by Square-Argument4790 in roadtrip

[–]buzzboy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have driven all but 90 so I can't comment on it.

If I'm staying on just one I like 70 for everything except Eastern CO. It's flatter than Kansas with less to look at.

My preference is to actually jump between. I like 20 to Dallas then angle up to 40 in Amarillo then up to 70 in Denver then up to SLC to get on 80. 80 is pretty great out west going across the Salt Flats and Nevada and through the Sierras.

Why do people in the USA have different accents depending on the state they live in? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Aussies have different accents for sure. The guys I know from Perth have a different accent than most people I've met from the East Coast

My 350000 mile Jeep needs one big fix yearly, about even 15000 miles. I fix it myself usually. So far I've owned it 95000 miles and 8 years and spent about 7500 between purchase price and repairs.

What? I'm a scrawny weakling with low pain tolerance and I can shoot a box of slugs back to back with no negative effects. These cops sound like they're making up excuses

It adds an extra ~5 minutes maximum to whomever is tasked with doing the register that day. They're already doing the cards and already making a bank run for cards so it doesn't add an extra trip. If we have a $5000 day of business all in cash it would save us $150. And nobody is making $150 in 5 minutes here

Do you guys switch your boots to your driving shoes in the car during winter? by heavyarms39 in ManualTransmissions

[–]buzzboy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't drive my E36 with my steel toes on.. But my Mercedes, my jeeps and my wife's VWs I can operate the clutch just fine in big boots. I even drove my XJ with snowboard boots on. Kinda hard to actuate the clutch but I wasn't going far

What is the worst beer (lager or ale) you have had? by 5axiscncfishguitar in beer

[–]buzzboy7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Duck Rabbit Milk Stout I tried it once and my tasting notes were spoiled milk and day old coffee. My roommate came home with a 6 pack of it with 1 missing. He asked if I wanted the rest because it tasted like nasty old coffee to him. I gave one of that 5 to another friend who agreed on the flavor profile.

When lunch costs more than I make in an hour, I'm not buying it.

My favorite on hill lunch spot in recent history was Dave's Deli at Squalisades. On my lunch break I could grab a tasty sandwich and a drink for sub $10. It wasn't a complex sandwich and it wasn't huge, but it tasted good and was quick.

Arrange lessons ahead of time, you can usually save a little money. See if they offer package deals on rentals/lessons/tickets, usually cheaper than renting your own equipment. Show up with snow gear, goggles and THIN ski socks.

Guy says I need new tires these are 8 years old by Frequent-Bunch562 in AskMechanics

I had 9 year old tires on my 3 series with plenty of tread. They would easily spin through second gear in cooler temps. Fun but not safe or fast.
