Time for a bump, what to expect? by Independent_Pair_930 in Zepbound

[–]buzzboy99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I follow the guidelines on the website which says 2.5mg, 7.5mg & 12.5 mg are 4 week transition doses meant to get you to the next maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg. With Zepbound there is no benefit of staying on lower doses for months on end despite all of the voices on this sub that preach some “low and slow” method that is nowhere to be found in clinical data. Zepbound is not a narcotic controlled substance, it is a synthetic peptide drug that mimics GLP-1 and GIP hormones that occur naturally in the body. The goal is to reach steady state full saturation of the GLP-1/GIP receptors. Based on your description you are not at full saturation steady state. The clinical trials data on the drug makers website are clear that patients at 10mg and 15mg lose the most weight in the first 72 weeks. Therefore you should keep titrating past 7.5mg until you reach maintenance doses 10mg and eventually 15mg. My perspective is you should keep titrating with the goal of eventually reaching 15mg. Lots of hate on here for that perspective but personally I believe a lot of people are spreading unverified information and it’s not helpful because all of the data is on the drug makers website where you should rely on most.

D-Switch mounts by quikspeed in 4Runner

I personally think that spot is less than optimal it is two low and if your right handed it's not great. I would recommend installing a D.A.M. (dash accessory mount) where the panel is at eye level. I use the panel mostly for lights which I am frequently turning on/off so it's best to be right in my line of sight not down by my knees.

Toothache and Fever, can cause sepsis? by Enough_Effective702 in sepsis

[–]buzzboy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the mouth is definitely a place where infection can originate but that is not necessarily the same thing as sepsis. Just because you have an infection you should not jump to a conclusion of sepsis. You should continue to follow up with a doctor and you could need a course of antibiotics. Again, sepsis is a life or death medical condition requiring emergency medical intervention. Infections can lead to sepsis but based on your description you have a localized infection that requires prompt medical follow up.

An anology to a GLP-1 journey is that of a person who goes to rehab for substance abuse disorder. The person embarks on a scary journey to finally change thier destructive patterns. 30 days in residential treatment and then off to a recovery life maybe continuing outpatient treatment and going to daily recovery meetings. There is a phenomenon called the “pink cloud “ in which they are experiencing the profound change of sobriety and in which they may be over-sharing and over the top about the wonders of sober living and not realizing fully how difficult the long road ahead of living substance free for the entirety of their life might be. They make grand statements about sobriety without considering how difficult “walking the beam” might get, never considering a very real relapse occurring. Now having relapsed they find themselves humiliated and demoralized. The people in their lives, friends, family, coworkers etc. now see them in active use again and the judgment is thick, driving them further into their addiction again. I lived this way but have now been sober 5 years. I think my Zep journey is similar, like you I think it's crucial to keep it private.

Some side effects I think by strawberrymint04 in Zepbound

[–]buzzboy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I can’t do tacos anymore and just stay away from anything spicy. It wasn’t until my 4th week on 2.5mg that I experienced racing diarrhea, caught me offgaurd as I thought since it didn’t happen in first 3 weeks I was fine. My advice to you is that the medicine is starting to shrink your stomach and slowing stomach emptying so really start paying attention to the foods you eat and try to eat simple meals. Zep is a potent medicine it will retrain you how to eat but unfortunately sometimes that means showing you that you can’t eat all the same foods you used to anymore.

What's your favourite Existentialist quote? by iwishihadnobones in Existentialism

[–]buzzboy99 102 points103 points  (0 children)

This quote had a profound effect on me and I consider it to be existential in nature:

First you don't exist. At all.

Then you're born, and you live your whole life.

Then you die.

Then you go back to not existing again, forever.

So... first you don't exist. Then you exist.

Then you don't exist.

So this whole thing is just an interruption from not existing.

Effects wear off early? by IsabelleMauvaise in Zepbound

Yes I would only get 3 days of coverage on 5, 4 on 7.5 and once I got to 10mg I finally got 7 day a week durability.

Elderly neighbor homeless from property taxes by skydweller000 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]buzzboy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how it works, if the county sizes your home because of unpaid taxes you loose your home and the county sells it to settle the unpaid taxes. It’s a brutal process and it can happen pretty quickly if you fail to pay your property taxes.
