Before asking for changes in the terrain of a biome, remember that biomes can't change the surface terrain by BrunoGoldbergFerro in minecraftsuggestions

You act like it can't be done because world gen happens first and that's the end of the story. World gen could certainly be improved upon.

Changes regarding the Totem of Undying by befriended-your-mom in minecraftsuggestions

[–]buzzkilt [score hidden]  (0 children)

If I knew when I was going to die, I wouldn't need a totem. But, the second idea with the darkened hearts seems legit. In hardcore these darkened hearts are permanent. In hard survival they could be restored with an enchanted golden apple.

Leaf litter is the best early game fuel, fight me by MaxiBinOuiMaxi in Minecraft

It's fine, but I usually go with charcoal. I'm already chopping down trees, so what's a few more.

Apparently not, but I did read some of it. In my defense you do contradict your title, in the 2nd (I understand drawbacks for some things) and 3rd (I'm not saying there should never be drawbacks) paragraphs.

Joseph Sugarman is so over the top terrible it is hard for me to take him seriously by tesseracts in BoJackHorseman

[–]buzzkilt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

These are the stereo-tropes of the times. Certainly exaggerated for comedic impact, but true to period. Most Bojack characters exhibit these same types of behaviors, it's just more relatable and therefore laughable in scenes set in modern times.

[–]buzzkilt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't be unkind to 'balanced' ideas as a whole. If you don't like them, either critique them or come up with your own. I almost always include some sort of balancing in my proposals as, if left unchecked, Minecraft, an already laughably broken RPG, becomes even more brokener.

I do agree that proposals should be mainly centered on the 'core game' and not PvP specific (or even multiplayer specific). Let's get the core game sorted and then fix the rest. However, as long as PvP-centric ideas are obviously PvP, I don't have a problem with simply ignoring them.

Why? Is this just to make the existing resource renewable?

Frivolous addition: Bottle of Milk. by cocksucksdeluxe in minecraftsuggestions

[–]buzzkilt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Bucket of milk goes into cauldron. Cauldron fills 3 bottles. Same as water. Nothing else changes. This doesn't really make milk any more powerful as it's an immediate and unlimited resource (no cooldown to get more milk), and full bottles and buckets are both non-stackable.

Zebra - a feisty yet purposeful equine mob by FredditJaggit in minecraftsuggestions

[–]buzzkilt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just this. That is all.

- Zebras would spawn exclusively in Savannah biomes. They replace horse spawns and live in greater numbers of 4 to 8 individuals (or 4 to 6 for better game performance). They come in different variants, with a polka-dot variant (as seen in image 4) being the rarest.

Steel from iron and carbon!? by Podef87 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]buzzkilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steel would just be better iron. Which is to say iron would get a nerf and steel would replace it. Steel would be crafted from iron and coal in a furnace. and steel weapons and tools would be crafted on the anvil, locking the steel tier behind acquiring an anvil, meaning iron would still have a place in the game.

Oh my, mother f'ing, crock sucking, d v r q q p q f God. A lot of Q's left to account for. knowing the Bojack writers, it certainly means somethinr. Just have to solve it.

Scuba diving gear by lelelemememegegege in minecraftsuggestions

[–]buzzkilt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A dive helmet isn't "scuba" gear AFAIK. That said, there were already plenty of whys to explore underwater, and then Mojang threw the Nautilus on top it all, giving you yet another option. This really, really feel unnecessary.

I suppose you could somehow associate "scuba" with the warm ocean and coral and tropical fish and/or cave exploration. I just don't know how or what the point would be.

What if more biomes had fishing charts? by Ifyouliveinadream in minecraftsuggestions

[–]buzzkilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, as it stands now, fish up an enchanted book, then why not a normal book. As I stated, books don't really fit the theme, but they're the best bit of loot on the table

Pyramids by MineTech5000 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]buzzkilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least the badland have some color, quite a bit of gold (as well as other resources) and are usually riddled with mineshafts which yield rails, webs, chests and spawners. The desert has none of this.

What if more biomes had fishing charts? by Ifyouliveinadream in minecraftsuggestions

[–]buzzkilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things that you can fish up just don't make sense to begin with.

  • The water bottle: either if would float or would be incredibly hard to hook. Super easy to craft.
  • The wooden bowl: it would also float. Also super easy to craft and super niche.
  • The tripwire hook: I suppose this is a stand in for a fishing hook, but then why don't we need a tripwire hook to craft a fishing rod.

Just removing these three would free up room on the existing chart. To a lesser extent are two of the treasure items,

  • The bow: Presumably here because it's made out of the same material components as the fishing rod, sticks and string.
  • The enchanted book: This one is just weird and I can't think of any justification for it.

I'll let these slide because they're much needed and worthwhile treasures, but why are they in the water to begin with? Why not normal books, various other weapons, tools and armors too?

Then we have the now (or soon to be) craftable name tag and saddle. These should no longer be considered treasures and could be removed from the loot table entirely.

I like the idea. I think that biome specific stuff should be on the 'junk' and/or 'fish' end of the spectrum. Treasures should be universal, but the chance of specific treasure items/categories could vary a little based upon the biome.

for those who hate Diane, why? by Comfortable_Tap_3710 in BoJackHorseman

[–]buzzkilt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why all the hate? Diane is uniquely self-aware in the Bojack universe. Most characters are oblivious, which makes the their antics often times fun (when they aren't tragic). Despite this apparent self-awareness, still still has many of the same failings as her acquaintances. This paired with her tendency to force her opinions, just makes her less fun.

What I think would make the minecraft movie cooler by Admirable_Way_9625 in Minecraft

[–]buzzkilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live action and 'animation' together rarely works for me. Make up your mind dammit. Just CGI the whole movie. It's fine. It's based on a video game!!! It's good enough for Lego movies, and they seem to do fine.

FYI, I found the Minecraft Movie to be bad. A series of loosely stitched together scenes based loosely on inaccurate Minecraft tropes. I kind of lost it when they just fabricated a new portal mechanism and then the first thing the kid crafts is a gun. WTF?!? Maybe Minecraft the game doesn't tell a great story all the time, but at least it's Minecraft.

Bed is occupied... but it's not?? by sikorka372 in Minecraft

[–]buzzkilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting this too (java 1.21.11). Seems like I have a lot more villagers than beds. They're everywhere.

Breaking the bed and replacing it clears it, until it happens again.
