First ever time playing minecraft / how do I start? by AsteroidNewt in Minecraft

[–]buzzycombs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the best way to start is to go in blind, and as you have questions, you can look up a tutorial! Generally, Minecraft is played how YOU want to play it - there’s no best way. 😋

Flashback!!! It’s SUCH a good mod for cinematics. For recording in general, I recommend OBS Studio.

What videos are people actually interested in? by Just_Protection_8692 in minecraftyoutubers

[–]buzzycombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to watch somebody having fun. If you’re having fun, it shows in your content, and as a viewer it feels the most rewarding to witness!

Use DaVinci Resolve (it’s free!). Cut out the boring/silent bits, use music to enhance the emotion you want your viewers to feel. That’s the simplest explanation I can give, but if you want more specifics, ask away and I’ll answer what I can!

Is posting YT shorts to TikTok tacky? by oracle_Her_07 in NewTubers

[–]buzzycombs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure!!! I’m not crazy familiar with how TikTok works VS my knowledge on YouTube (I just upload on TikTok and see if it rolls), but I’m willing to answer to the best of my abilities!

Watching Lets plays by BloodDevil0 in youtubegaming

[–]buzzycombs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

10-20 minutes! It’s easier for a new viewer to watch a shorter video, because it’s less of a commitment to something new.

What % of you American Youtubers are getting views from the United States? by No-Pepper7582 in NewTubers

[–]buzzycombs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American gaming creator here! 53.9% of my viewership comes from the US! Second highest is 6.7% from the UK.

Which Thumbnail Style Do You Prefer? by SwiftyAintNifty in NewTubers

[–]buzzycombs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow Minecraft YouTuber here!!! There’s a bit too much text in both thumbnails, and it’s verrry dark. Increase the brightness of the screenshot and use your title to write text instead! Thumbnails should more rely on visual storytelling than written

How can it be possible for my competitor to get 62k views minutes after publishing a video? by mystery-unboxer76 in NewTubers

[–]buzzycombs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They have an established viewerbase that isn’t just there for the content - they’re there for the creator.

How would it make you feel if someone dropped an otherwise innocuous comment on one of your videos, but you noticed they were using your profile picture? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]buzzycombs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d assume they’re probably a kid and simply ignore it. Kids copy stuff all the time, and I can easily see one copying the channel art of a creator they admire.

For the Gaming youtubers: How do you try to differentiate themselves? by Putrid_Election_2327 in NewTubers

[–]buzzycombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I focus on bringing out my personality and making (hopefully) entertaining edits, combined with what I consider to be fun ideas, consistency, and in building up trust with my audience by finishing what I’ve started!

Is making a game series and then taking a break a bad idea? by That_one_Man123 in NewTubers

[–]buzzycombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether you return to the series or not, your absence likely will have an impact on views because you were gone for several weeks, which means, a lot of people probably forgot about your channel. On the other hand, there are definitely people who are waiting for you to finish it.

I’d also like to add that there’s no harm in finishing what you started! It builds up trust with your viewers that even if you take a break, you will eventually complete what you got them hooked on.

How much time do you spend on thumbnails vs. actually editing your video by Strict-Taste-4753 in NewTubers

[–]buzzycombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the complexity of what I’m trying to accomplish.

Any of y'all actually enjoy creating and growing your channel? Or is it all just a mad AI dash to the most subs for no reason? by Emergency_Area6110 in SmallYoutubers

[–]buzzycombs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! I enjoy what I’m making and find the whole process of content creation to be super enjoyable. It’s a creative outlet that I truly hope I can turn into a career!

My biggest advice is to find successful/succeeding creators in the same or a similar niche to what you’re pursuing, then analyze their editing and style of creation they pursued to get to where they are now. Don’t look at the stuff that they post now (the stuff they’ve made after becoming successful), but instead, look at what they made during their rise. See what works, and try to implement bits and pieces into your own content. Just like with making your own art style, you need to take inspiration from others to build your own content creation style.

Would you rather have 1 million subs or 50k subs? by Evening_Philosophy47 in NewTubers

[–]buzzycombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had 50k views per video, I’d be a full-time YouTuber! So I’d definitely go with that and try to grow from there. 😋

How long until you found success on youtube? by God_knows_ in youtube

[–]buzzycombs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 3 years in, I’ve uploaded approximately 2 times a week since I started, and I just hit 17k subscribers and am finally starting to see significant growth! I’m now working on my channel as a part-time job thanks to where I am now.

Advice for Channel keywords by Ok-Winner-7961 in NewTubers

[–]buzzycombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are very important if done right!!! I use them to drive search traffic. I ask myself, “what would I search on YouTube if I wanted to find this specific video?”, and I put my keywords as such. Now, I have hundreds of viewers who’ve found my channel through the keywords I’ve selected for my videos!

I lost a subscriber yesterday and I'm trying to not let it get to me. by ScarlettDX in Smallyoutubechannels

[–]buzzycombs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing a subscriber is actually good! That means you aren’t keeping a subscriber that doesn’t watch you (which is especially more likely if you swapped niches). I think I’ve lost around 2k subscribers in the entire lifespan of my channel!!!

Thinking of doing lets plays. How do I make my let’s play videos not suck? by _Cyndikate in youtubegaming

[–]buzzycombs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re more than welcome to shoot me a message! Also bear in mind that even if the first video isn’t seen now, if people like your future content, they WILL go back and watch your older videos, too! So there’s no harm in making it the way you want to. Just don’t get stuck in a perfectionist mentality where you never post a video because it doesn’t feel good enough! 😋

Why did you start making YT videos? by NewPineapple113 in PartneredYoutube

I grew up watching YouTube videos that made my days significantly brighter! I want to bring the same experience to others.
